I agree with you completely. let's use DWI as an example, shall we. Should we only arrest people AFTER they've run someone over and INJURED them?? Better yet, a guy runs someone over drunk. He gets out of jail, celebrates with a liter of Whitehall, and is arrested on the way home. Should he get less punishment because he didn't run anyone over THIS time????? That's just absurd.
you really cant compare the two, daz. my thinking is the NHL rarely punishes severely unless injury is involved. the NHL could have easily said "yeah, but this time no one got hurt, sit for 3 games." and that would be that. but the NHL took his status as a repeat offender, and substituted it for the injury.
thats just how i see it, i am satisfied with the NHL ruling. but thats me.
