He's not worth that, he has what, 11 career NHL games, that warrants 1 million dollars now?

I would still dispute that a goaltender with 8 NHL starts, maybe 10 by season's end, is worth $1M per. That's just too much money for a player of that experience level.

Just because offer sheets don't happen often doesn't mean they won't ever happen.

Enroth is looking like he has the potential to be a solid NHL goaltender. What team that needs goaltending help wouldn't take a shot at that, especially since he comes so cheap?

The Sabres have done it right with Enroth. They took their time, and he's capable of playing great hockey. They better lock him up before that all starts or they could be facing an offer sheet.

I'll bet you a 6 pack that nobody signs Enroth to an offer sheet.

i could see a desperate team offering enroth a deal. perhaps rewarding potential rather then experience.

I don't think he'll be signed to one because I don't think the Sabres will let it happen.

But I'll bet a 6 pack that if the Sabres don't have him signed before free agency, that they'll have to match one.

Likely will be lambasted for this, but I say start Enroth tomorrow against Pitt. Kid has been hot for Buffalo, and Pens have had Miller's number. I think an extra day's rest could reap rewards for Miller.

completely agree with this

It's on a map somewhere. :p

We had a spammer that threw up a post that had FAP TURBO in it, found it hilarious, and took it for my own.

I actually live in Niagara Falls. :p

Offer sheets are a dick move that is looked down upon by most GMs. Asshole Lowe lost what few friends he had with the stunt for Vanek. A back-up goalie with no real experience will not be given an offer sheet. I'll bet the house Enroth doesn't get one. He'll get a standard 10% QO, and end up with a salary around 850-900K because he also has a $215k bonus on this year's salary that he won't want to lose out on in at the bottom line.

There's no way in hell Miller or Enroth should be considered for trade. Ultimately there should be about a 57-25 split in starts, with Enroth getting a start for every back-to-back, plus spot duty as injury or dull play from Miller occurs. A solid starter/back-up combo has been a glaring weakness for four seasons. Now that the problem is solved it will be a strength that is taken advantage of, not tossed aside. Enroth can be considered for the starter IF he continues progressing and once Miller's contract expires, which is only three years away.

I fully expected to come in here and scream at you Mike, haha, but yeah I agree, Enroth looks NHL ready, and could probably handle 30+ games next year. He wont get 30+ games, but could handle them if need be.

I really have liked how much he's improved his legs since his first training camp. He kicks pucks away from the middle, and makes amazing saves while moving down in butterfly. His blocker side is still a mess, but he's only going to improve that part of his game.

I can't wait to have him as our full time back up. He'll be making a challenge for that starting spot in 3 seasons or less. He's improving that fast.

I love his mask as well, but I agree, those black and red pads are just awful. Even if they were blue and gold they'd look awful.

im not sold on enroth being the sabres long term answer to miller, but im starting to trust him in net. if he works on his lateral movement, ill really be happy. as it is now, hes a good goalie and im anxious to see him in 20 games next year.

as for his pads, im a big fan of the white pads with coloured graphics. im not a big fan of his RBK revokes though. maybe hell get on the vaughn train next year ;)

I went from Reebok to Vaughn and I see a huge difference. Enroth should grab some Icebergs. They're bad-friggen-ass

Actually, the way I understood it was that you called the GM, and asked him(as a gentleman) if he would match the offer. If he said yes, you didn't file it, because it drove salaries up(in turn hurting all GM's). Lowe was a dick because he did it anyways, because he believed Darcy was bluffing. There's nothing wrong with offer sheets, they are a part of the business.

Well that's pretty much what I meant...making an offer sheet despite Darcy being adamant that he'd match.

I'd be very happy if we gave miller rest. But if we go like every 10 games enroth every 10 games tO play it only gives him 8 games a year. I wouldn't give miller every 5 games Off enroth gets like 15 games
