Kaleta sent home with a swelling knee, another player has the flu, both Hecht and Grier are out tonight. So Luke Adam and Mark Parrish got the nod.

Parrish is an interesting call up, he's got a knack for getting open and scoring around the net. If anybody knows what number he'll be wearing lemme know.

I just happened to look at the Sabres FB page.

Someone called Parrish an 'AHL lifer'.

I'll now go back to not looking at the Sabres FB page.

Wait, didn't he just spend the better part of like 12 or 13 years in the NHL prior to his Portland assignment?

Edit: OK, 11. Still. Jackasses.

I have a feeling Miller's the one with the flu. We might see Enroth tonight.

That'd make sense, why else would Lindy Ruff be so secretive. Plus, Enroth is still up.

Shocked people from Buffalo are hating on him. He's typically the type of player fans love, the underdog, semi-underachieving type player. Although his name isn't Kassian or Kennedy, so somebody is always going to hitch about it. Buffalo has good fans, but some really retarded ones as well.

Really excited to see both of them. Adam is a better choice than some of the players we put out on the ice on a night to night basis and it'll be interesting to see what Parrish can do. I saw Parrish in Buffalo a few times before he signed his contract, and i'm pumped.

Thomas Vanek isn't practicing. Looks like he's the one with the flu.

Maybe since a lot of those games were with the Islanders (the AHL of the NHL) people don't count them.

Mark Parrish was a good NHL player, unfortunately his time has passed. Any team could have signed him, and they passed. Let's hope he has a game or two left in the tank.

Vanek has had a sore foot also, so maybe he's just resting.

who loves an underachiever?

people love underdogs that overachieve. like the entire sabres roster from 97-2001. guys that shouldn't win, but they do. curtis brown, mike peca, barnes, dumont, gratton, holzinger, sanderson...

ah, the days when the sabres were called the hardest working team in hockey.

i still wonder what would have happened had peca been signed in 2000-2001. that team could have gone to the finals without him... imagine with him.

darius kasperitus... how?
