Well, the second period was very much like the first, a comedy of errors. Neither team has any flow and at times it seems like nobody knows what to do with the puck. The penalties called were absurd, even the one where Chara shoved Montador was a very weak call. However, that is a very good example of the lack of respect around the league, Chara didn't have to push him all his might, a little bump and the puck was his. But he wanted to send a personal message. How do you call "Boarding" when a guy is THAT FAR from the boards AND he hits the ice well before the boards. Roughing...maybe but I don't see a call there. The Crosscheck on Vanek soon after could have been a Slash just before but again, these refs are calling a bad game and it's only a matter of time until they make the equally crappy even up calls.
Can anybody explain why Miller would come that far out to challenge Chara shortly before that empty net PPG was allowed? Chara had no shot due too the shot blocker, and no angle. No idea what he was thinking there.
The slippery hands of Ennis are the difference in this one. His goal was funny, it looked like he tossed McQuad a live hand grenade. I LOL'd.
Connolly missing that empty net was unacceptable. He could have held onto to it another half a second and really had an empty net, that's brutal hands and poise.
If the Sabres can sustain any kind of zone time in the third period they should be able to get at least a point.
That was horrible read by Miller and not surprised with Connolly

It's a phrase that basically means, if you wanna see the Sabres at the top, turn the rankings.
