But I love seeing Cody perform plastic surgery on people in the clips!

depends on what kind of intro you want to go with. some teams go for the pump up, attitude, hard entrance. others go for the nostalgic, softer entrance. hard to explain. even though i hate both bands, and even the songs themselves, i loved the montreal canadiens 2008 playoff entrance.

just clips of happy moments and celebrating, leaving out the fights and such.

depends what way you want to go. im a fan of the nostalgic way myself.

im a fan of hot ethnic women making a violin do things its not supposed to... but i agree i like a little more nostalgia...

Man I miss Alex and Patty.... wow they were impressive!

If I had a bit of input I'd vote for some Clutch. The first one is a good opener.

It appears they're splashing the proper logo all over the place like the door to the locker room and the door to the front offices.
And the Stanley cup quote from Pegula etched in glass over the crossed sabres...nice.

I like the Marimba Ponies Version of the Sabre Dance.

Wait....so does this mean we're losing that epic Conan-eske opening music? That change will suck.

Keep the Russian inspired classical music, now that there is a actually a team with the Hurricane as their nickname....the Scorps tune has to be retired and should have been long ago.

thats the intro i like. the slow mo shots of the good times. seeing the huge grin on drapers face, the saku koivu celebration... that would be my ideal pre-game intro video.

anyone can play "bulls on parade" and show hits and fights (awesome song by the way) but i want the more sentimental intro. but thats just me.

I'm pumped. I'll be in Buffalo in the morning. Too bad there aren't any games before I head back to Orlando on Wednesday. Just up in Toronto (where I am today).

Time to stock up on more Sabres gear. :)

the de-slugging is cool as long as they dont change the 2007 banners. nothing sucks more then when a team changes the banners of pasts success to the current logos. you keep those banners as it.

Agreed. I also submitted a suggestion that they put the original banners from 96-97 and 98-99 back up, not the replacements they put up in 08 or whatever. They kept the appropriate logo on those banners...but replaced them. What the hell were they thinking replacing an original banner?

It's something that's bothered me since they did it.

last i knew, all the old pre-HSBC arena banners are replicas. all the old original blue and gold retired numbers and championship banners are all replicas. the original banners were lost after taken down after the last game in the aud, and last i knew, they hadnt been found.

also, i have a neat idea, though its not mine.

when they tore down the aud, what did they do with the scoreboard? i ask because at phillips arena in atlanta, they took the old OMNI scoreboard and refurbished it, and hung it in the pavilion fully operational. how cool would it be to go into the HSBC arena atrium and see the old aud scoreboard hanging from the ceiling, operational?

It's a great start to get everyone excited. I hope all the changes bring some energy into the arena because to be honest, for a sold out crowd the fan support is embarrising. The Coyotes' arena seems louder unless the Sabres are leading or playing well. Whenever they'd need their fans the arena is on mute or they are boo'ing...the Buffalo Sabres are proud of their fan base but where is the fan base when they need it.

P.S: I'm sorry for all the mistakes in my post. I'm shitfaced but I felt the need of writing a response. Every subpar football club around here has a group of fans who chant, sing and scream no matter how bad their team plays. I wanna here that kind of support in the HSBC arena, especially when they are trailing or playing poorly.

Yes, I know that. Nothing you can do about that...but they did make them exact replicas, so those who didn't actually know they'd been lost wouldn't know the difference.

What I'm talking about is the banners won after HSBC was open - the Conference Champions in 99 in Division Champions in 97.

These were the original banners: http://img856.imageshack.us/i/dsc00852.jpg/
This image shows the banners they were replaced with sometime during the Golisano era: http://img269.imageshack.us/i/img0041custom.jpg/

See the images I posted above...first one is the original banners, second one has the changed ones.

Unless you mean the Aud banners. In which case, here's a photo I found of the Aud: http://cdn-2-service.phanfare.com/image ... 4ba17a52_1

Compare that to the second photo above and they appear to be exact replicas.
