Rick Martin, one-third of the most fabled line in Buffalo Sabres history, died today of a heart attack. He was 59.

Who would know that Pegula's introductory ceremony would be the last time the French Connection would be skating together? Glad Pegula was able to do that for us... May he forever be in peace.

I never seen him play but I have seen highlights of him, this is sad. Extra motvation for this years sabres to win today after this bad news.

WIVB and WGRZ both reporting it was a car accident at Main St. and Salt Road in Clarence. Which is like maybe 5 or 10 minutes from my house.
I cannot believe this.

I got to meet Rico and the rest of the French Connection during the World Juniors, and I took their picture for the blog I was writing. And I was at the Atlanta game during Pegula's inception and got to see them skate together for the last time... It just isn't right. I haven't gone through the pictures I took at that game yet, and now it will be too sad.

Poor Rico. Glad he got to see the ownership change and I'm glad Pegula was able to reunite them one last time.

This is one hell of a sad day. I just got the news, coming home from hockey. This has never happened before, but I don't know if I can even get up for this game tonight.

R.I.P. Mr. Martin, you will be missed by everyone.
