In Vanek's last five games played, he has tallied a point each. He has 2 goals and 6 assists in that span.

Connolly is having issues giving away the puck. He led the Sabres with three giveaways. All led to Ottawa goals.

Stafford has not played in two straight games. He may have issues not digging in enough lately. He does rebound in huge ways through stints in the press box.

You said point each, so that would mean he should only have 5 points in that span.

The better way to word that is to say Vanek has accumulated 8 points in his last 5 games.
