One thing I will say about Gerbe, he gets the puck to the net...I don't see a lot of his wrist shots getting blocked.

He enters the zone and just shoots it at the net. You wont get a goal like that. The odds are slim, just relying on those odds isn't productive. He shoots it at 2 defensemen from the blueline. Not very likely to go in.

Refs do much worse to the Sabres when calling penalties.

Sutherland is actually my favorite ref, I hope he's okay.


Boyes needs too throw a simple check on that last "fore-check". That was weak, and pretty typical of the Sabres fore-check all season long. I mean, why so polite? Establish body position and fight for the puck, am I right?!

Too God Damn many refs out there anyway, no need for 2 refs and 2 lines men, 1 ref, 1 assistant ref/linesman and 1 linesman would do just fine. The head Ref watches play down low, assistant watches up high, and assists the linesman with offsides and such.

How often do the refs get hit by the puck, and effect play?
