I like Grier, never was much of a Niedermayer fan but I always respected his game. It's pretty clear now though that both are past their best years. They were both supposed to be 3rd line players, but now are on the 4th line barring injuries. I still expect a bigger impact from each down the stretch and in the playoffs (if they get there). Neither is worth re-signing though. I've liked Ellis since he became a Sabre, and I'd be willing to bet Ruff would call him up, but he probably doesn't want to insult Niedermayer or Grier by sitting them unless they can be replaced with a definite impact player.

Sad to see them fade, but Buffalo can do more with their 2.65 mil cap hit next season.

Agreed, it's hard not to love a guy who SO CLEARLY gives every ounce of energy he has, every single shift on the ice.

If only he had some talent...

That about sums it up for me.
