I picked Cody but Gaustad is a close runner up along with Kaleta. I think mostly every player has given their all this season, and will continue to do so.

Its a tough call... And as much as I like Cody and what he brings... I actually went with Gerbe for the simple face that he is much more of a pest than I thought he would be... has more of an edge to him than i thought he would and he has more in his game than i ever expected out of a 5'5" 160 lbs wing... Scrappy Doo has some puppy power behind him... yes shot selection could improve... but in all i see the lil bugger working his tail off...

But it is a very tough call between those guys...

What Gerbe brings in effort, Cody sacrifices with blood and bruised knuckles. Gaustad a close second for the same reasons and his effort with faceoffs.

Ennis' really tries hard in the offensive zone, circulating the puck and drawing penalties.

Connolly!

ok, maybe McCormick. But Ennis and Gerbe are close, just for the fact that they'd be uneffective if they didn't work as hard as they do.

Cody with Montador as a runner up. Both have been solid players.

I voted Gerbe. His feet are always moving, but the same can be said for Cody and Patty. Gerbe gets my vote though because he has become the house favorite since I moved in with some buddies.

I took other, Vanek. very tough between him, Ennis, and McCormick, and you can probably put Miller in there as well even though it hasn't shown much this season.

I think this Category is more "grinder" hard working than "speed" type hard working. Taking the body for the team and such.

Ex: Afinogenov could have been seen as "hard working" because he skated up and down but I wouldn't put him past any grinders.

I kind of agree, you have to separate talent and work. Usually, the least talented players are the hardest working, because they are the most replaceable and they know it. Vanek just gets by on his talent most nights, but I think Myers is a player who wants to work hard for his ice time more and more. Montador has a nice combination of both, he's a very hard worker but he's also cerebral and a lot more talented than he gets credit for. When Stafford is driven, he is one of the hardest working players on the team (but should have been bought out for Kennedy I guess), but he visits the other extreme too sometimes.

Guys like McCormick and Gaustad are slow footed, but they do skate hard and make up for it by paying great attention to the details of their game and doing their best at whatever is asked of them. Fighting, face-offs, screening, whatever. Kaleta can seem too flip a switch and become a demon on skates, he can put forth some fearless and relentless shifts but that kind of hockey takes it's toll. The grinders are the heart of a hockey team.

Montador and McCormick are a bit of a toss-up for me.

Patty. Lalime, that is. It's hard work sitting on the bench or working through a "lower body injury".

I voted Gerbe, but was really close to picking Cody. I think just the amount of time I find myself totally blown away by how hard Gerbe plays pushed me to his corner. The kid sticks his nose in everywhere, and he's the smalles guy in the league. Big props to McCormick for playing his role and being a real hard-working character guy.

Goose, Kaleta and Montador are a tier below, for me.

Ham
