There have been some really nice surprises, like Ennis and Stafford, but I said Vanek because he's still producing like clockwork ahead of everyone else. Stafford or Roy would be right there if they stayed healthy. Hard to vote right now though with so much hockey to play yet.

Vanek. He's been reliable and solid. With better line mates I think he could really put up super star numbers.

I started these now, by the way, to coincide with the Sabres announcing that the awards have been brought back.

I chose other: Montador. He's been the most consistent player on the team, in fact the last game was his first truly bad game of the season. He eats up a lot of minutes and he's an asset in every zone and every situation. I also apploud his character and on ice leadership skills.

Not an easy choice but he's my MVP. Runners up are Miller and Vanek

I picked Vanek.. but I always want to say pominville.. i just really love how he plays and he is a leader in the locker room as well.. but vanek does have the better stats and is becoming a leader in there as well.. if Roy was still playing i could guess that A LOT of votes would go to him.

I think you all have great points and I gotta agree with Vanek being the MVP. The way I see it: What player would hurt the team more if he wasn't playing? I think the answer is Vanek, really, I wouldn't want another playoffs without him. Usually, the answer would be Miller, but I think they played really good hockey without him this year thanks to Enroth.

I would hope people voting for Vanek did not do so purely based on points. I didn't.

Yeah, Vanek has been a much more dangerous player (and leader I think) even if he hasn't scored a lot. He's been a great passer too and just good overall. I think the overall opinion about Vanek this year has been favorable.

No question in my mind it's Vanek. If Leopold had kept up his early season play his name might be in the running, or if Roy didn't get hurt, but even so, I'd still be voting for Vanek because I think he brings things those guys do not.

Thirtysome straight starts through the period that saw this team get back in contention. Ryan Miller.

Looks like we're alone in that assessment.

Miller is a great choice, he was my second choice. It was quite the quandary but my final decision came down too a little bit more consistency in Montador's game. Vanek is a good choice too.

Nope.

Ryan Miller, bringing liberals and conservatives together since 2003.

I know all the Ryan Miller fanatics are gonna flame me for this, but his impact on this season's success (IMO) is less than Vanek's.

That's cool, Vanek has been very good. Miller has been good, but nowhere near as good as last year. But still, in my opinion, there's more pressure on Miller night in and night out because of the nature of his position, and because his backup situation has been, shall we say, less than stellar.

Of course I'm not a Miller "fanatic" by any stretch so maybe you weren't talking about me in particular there.
