In my opinion Buffalo should remove the number 99 . he's never played for the Sabres .

One day, #22 will be retired if Lindy Ruff coaches the Sabres to a Stanley Cup championship, which will be reason why he belong up in the rafters.

in all fairness, i dont agree with the NHLs retirement of 99. or MLBs retirement of 42.

The MLB should have made an exception of some sort, like, only black people can wear 42.

Yeah, there's no 99 banner, or anything really. They just can't assign that number to a player.

I'm assuming a headshot from the elbow of Matt Cooke, but it's anyone's guess.

There probably isn't a codified penalty or punishment, because I don't think anyone would try to use it.
