If...IF...Buffalo makes the playoffs they can realistically move up as far as 6th. That means playing Philly, Washington, or Boston...possibly Pitt if they get hot and beat out Philly for the Atlantic Division.

Philly - was struggling but playing better now, good combo of talent and toughness.

Washington - typical choker but seem to be playing the right kind of game now.

Boston - struggling now but real good team that Buffalo has played well, revenge factor of course.

Pitt - they could be deadl last and still seem to beat Buffalo whether Cindy and Dopey play or not.

I'd really like to see Buffalo beat the Rangers this week and shoot up to 6th, play Boston and deliver some much deserved revenge. Yeah that's two+ weeks of drama away but that's how I want things to pan out. After Carolina I hate Boston the most, partly because of Jack Edwards puking homeristic spew that he calls his play-by-play.

I hate Chara and Lucic. Obviously we would see some cheap shots from those two ass clowns.

That and the refs would screw us over again. The refereeing in last year's series was AWFUL. To add to it, Boychuk rapes Vanek's leg with a vicious slash taking him out. But Boston fans think thats hockey.

I want Boston. And I want to send them home crying like the big babies they are.

Jack Edwards is also a joke. He applauds his dirty ass team when they shove someone's face into the boards or hacks at their legs like a lumberjack, only to take them out of the game so they can win the series 4-2, then get assbanged by Philly.

Out of those three I want Boston.

I agree. I don't want Boston for the simple fact that listening to this piece of shit is impossible. Anytime a Boston player gets touched it should have been a penalty and anytime a Boston player does something suspension worthy it's just good old hockey. Worst announcer in the game. My favorite was when Gerbe checked Chara clean in the corner and he was whining like a bitch. The league's smallest player hits the league's biggest player cleanly and he wanted Gerbe to be tossed. He's a walking, talking bleeding vagina.

It's funny, just yesterday I was thinking to myself "Wow, the forum has shown a collective wisdom in that no one has made one of the 'who do we want in the playoffs' threads" because obviously none of us want to tweak the hockey gods noses just 7 games out. :)

Well, I guess that isnt the case, i'm hoping somehow Irony just doesnt even see this thread.

Ok, of course, realistically, nothing we say on a message board translates into bending time and space and fate into somehow screwing us out of our playoff spot, but still. STILL!

Anyways, i'd want Washinton. I've just never been that impressed by them, and we've always played them well, I seriously think we could take them in a 7 game series. And...even though I'd like to see our boys destroy boston in the post season, quite frankly I dont think we would, and I dont want to lose to them in the playoffs twice in two years.

i am a firm believer in karma and something bigger then myself. do i honestly believe saying shutout directly affects a game? no, but i do think SOMETHING can happen. hard to explain. its silly, i know. BUT STILL! DONT! CHANCE IT! ;)

i havnt thought about who i want in the first round, because right now, im enjoying the team coming around and playing good, winning hockey. i feel more comfortable with this team, at this point, then last years, believe it or not. i know that sounds silly, but i think this team is coming around at the right time.

however, as i was saying to my dad yesterday, this team is starting to play good hockey at the right time, and playing better at home to boot.

bring it on, whoever they face in the first round. the sabres may not win, but they will provide a long drawn out series.

Karma and fate are for people who think there is something bigger than themselves. What trash! I usually crush fate and karma with my own will power and personal determination. Sometimes I let fate and karma out of the box that I put it in after I wadded it up in a ball like yesterday's forgotten news. I do this only to unleash it on the weak minded that allow such trivial things to control their lives.

You guys need to learn something from Charlie Sheen, line up Boston in your crosshairs, pull the trigger with the fury of one thousand suns, and find out how to be WINNERS!

Saying shutout in a game then the other team scoring isn't a jinx, it's the natural laws of probability. Chances are you're not going to hold the team without a goal every night, unless your name is Lundqvuist or Miller.

I think Washington, Philly and Boston are equally strong and it would be a huge surprise if we can win the series against either one of them.
I don't want Boston because they have some cheap shot artists who always get away with it and both goaltenders are playing well.

That's the same mentality that had most Buffalo fans thinking the Sabres would beat Boston last year. When a team goes into the playoffs playing hard and well because they're playoff hopes are at stake, they can beat anyone. Especially a team that hasn't played a must-win game in six weeks. It might be a surprise to beat those teams, but hardly a "huge" one. Buffalo is playing now the way they played the first half of 09-10, and that means they can beat any team. I think Buffalo, New York, and Washington (maybe) will be the toughest teams in the 1st rd.

Look at our season series with Boston, we've played 6 games and won 4 of them against them this year. We can beat them if we play them.

Most likely we will plat wash or philly, and I want Wash over Philly. Just because of their history in the playoffs.

cant look at it like that.

in the 2000-2001 season, the sabres lost to the flyers all 4 times they played in the regular season. of course, the sabres beat the flyers in 6...

regular season doesnt mean much at all.

If we make it I think I want either Philly or Boston and I definitely don't want Pittsburgh.

The fact that the Pens are still doing well without Crosby and Malkin is scary

I want Philly.

I want the Sabres first playoff series win since 2007 to happen against Danny Briere.

I know Mike. I'm not stupid, but it's a good sign.
