NOT philly

i said to my brother a few weeks ago, "if this team can sneak into the playoffs, i think i'll be happy with whatever match up we get." i still feel this way.

we're playing the best hockey we have all year. were playing like it matters. this team is getting hot at the right time. i'm fairly confident. and in the the words of scrappy-doo...lemme at em!!

So with a 5 point lead and 14 points left on the table for both teams. The Sabres could get only 7 of those points, and force the Canes to have to get 13 out of their final 14 points.


So if we win 4 more games we are in, even if they win the head to head match.

I think our best chance would be against the Capitals, so i'd want them.

I think we did this last year and after getting the team most of us wanted(Boston) we go and lose to them. Lets try to avoid threads like this until, I dunno, we are solidified in the playoffs.

A thread like this would be pointless once we're in the playoffs, because then our opponent would be set, and our preferences wouldn't mean a damn thing.

FWIW, I was one of the cautious people about Boston last year. I didn't think it would be easy at all. I just want a shot at revenge, and that usually brings out the best in a team anyway.

I love to see a Penguins/Sabres series.

I would not mind seeing a Flyers/Sabres series as long as it does not replicate the 2000 playoffs. That sucked.

Agreed. I think the Flyers and Bruins are too physical for our team over the span of a 7 game series. I would MUCH rather play the Capitals.

Not necessarily but in the east this year, yeah it most likely will be set. Either way these threads bring bad energy.

I do like the prospect of having a goaltending edge on Philly or Washington. Personally if Thomas plays, I think we have an edge on Boston as well, but not so much if Rask plays. And Fleury scares the piss out of me. He plays out of his mind against us every single game.

Malkin and Crosby scare me in the playoffs, and one of them is gone, the other, who knows when he'll be back?

That was his 2008 number, the year they lost in the finals, I said he hasn't had a great playoff since then.

Don't want Boston because they are so physical, just look at last years playoff. I would love to see them play the choker Caps the most though

If the playoffs started today, we would be playing the Flyers. A team that is slumping and not at all confident with their goal tending. Meanwhile the Sabres are hard charging with great goal tending.

I think the Flyers defense is over hyped and over rated and the Sabres D is under rated. And, the Sabres are one of a few teams that has very good scoring depth, they can match the Flyers line for line.

I want the Flyers!

Right now I think we could face anyone in the Eastern Conference and stand a good chance of advancing.
