agree and disagree. they control their own destiny, but its nice to get some help too.

todays game could pretty much lock down a post season slot should they win.

I'm just not a fan of looking around you if it doesn't matter. Focus on winning your own games, and everything else is irrelevant.

I blame the Leafs for stopping losing against us.

1. I like this pre-game thread idea for big games.

2. Sabres are in a serious must win scenario now. As in, win or fall out of the top 8 in the conference.

3. Sabres fans ought to let their nacho cheese cool down first if they're going to throw it. No melting faces off, k?

This.

If we win in regulation, that puts the Canes 4 points back, meaning that they'd more or less have to win all three of their games (and hope that we lose all three of ours) in order to leap-frog us

I hope ENroth's trend of playing well against teams Miller hasn't played so well against continues.

Why are we in 9th if we lose in regulation? What is it coming down to?

They'd have the tie-breaker over us I believe

Yeah, I think it goes regulation wins, then season series, then everything else...

Yeah, It's points gained in season series. If the sabres win in reg, they win this tiebreaker 5-4. If they win in OT/SO, then the tiebreaker moves to goal differential which the Sabres will also win +whatever to -whatever since the canes are unlikely to make up 19+ goals difference.

They better win. This is a must. There's no "oh we'll take an off day". This is win in regulation.
