That scene was the definition of bad ass. Cody demolishing that guy and sending him into the other, Enroth busting out his balls and taking off the helmet, and of course Enroth saying HELL NO to Jokinen.

That hit by Cody...man, that was one nice freaking moment. The section I was sitting in (the canes fans that is) just went quiet and started grumbling like there should have been a penalty, and me and the sabres fans just stood up and ERUPTED, it was freaking awesome.

And what the fuck, how come the whistle wasnt blown when enroth's helmet came off? That shit is dangerous, how on earth do they let play continue?

Haha, when I seen McCormick kill-doze Jokinen, the only thing that went through my mind was, "Access: Denied".

At the same time, the only thing which likely went through Jokinen's mind was "!(&#&*@^$(*@Y*!(@#&*QHDAWTF!?"

he took it off himself and the canes were on the attack. had the sabres had the puck or someone knocked it off him it would have been blown dead.

He knocked it off when he went for a save.

But the rule was called correctly.

Quote:
When a goalkeeper has lost his helmet and/or face mask and his team has possession of the puck, the play shall be stopped immediately to allow the goalkeeper the opportunity to regain his helmet and/or face mask. When the opposing team has possession of the puck, play shall only be stopped if there is no immediate and impending scoring opportunity. This stoppage of play must be made by the Referee. When play is stopped because the goalkeeper has lost his helmet and/or face mask, the ensuing face-off shall take place at one of the defending team’s end zone face-off spots.

The image in my mind of him being a drunk redneck with all his sabres gear on showing up all those hockeytards is awesome.

That replay is quite the spectacle.

First - Enroth has trouble with his helmet and starts to shake it off...

Second - simultaneously, Skinner throws the puck across the crease while Enroth gets frustrated and flips his helmet off, making it land directly behind him on top of the net...

Third - Enroth keeps track of the puck, getting position just in time to rob Jokinen and bear down on the puck...

Fourth - While Enroth blocks the 2nd and 3rd whacks from Jokinen, McCormick McKilldozers him into another dimension, taking out another Cane in the process.

That five second sequence was worth the price of admission alone, the OT win was just icing on the cake. I had a lot of good clean fun with that replay in the stands, and there wasn't anything the Canes fans could do about it.

i am not going to watch it again, but i will recommend you do. he shook it off himself because it settled funny.

plus it was awesome that he shook it off and it landed on top of the net.

It's like the end of Ferris Bueller when he jumps back into bed and his snore sound effect goes off. Just before his parents walk in he throws the baseball off the "off" button and it lands in his baseball glove on one hop.

What Pat said. He backhanded the mask off his head with his blocker so he could keep up with the play.

So not only do the Sabres win the game, Sabres fans are winning their contests

Nothing would make me happier today than Detroit kicking Carolina's butt.
