Hmmm. That's strange, because the reports I've heard were that his team mates love him.

Haha. Not the one I talked to.

On the teams I've played on, being called a douchebag is a badge of honor.

Just sayin' .:)

That's something too keep in mind for next season, because rumor has it overtimes will be decided by personality contests. So I doubt they will roll him out in the top 3.

Clearly, the way this team has played without him in the lineup, there was something to be worried about.

Too bad I don't have a picture of myself flipping off the camera to post after that. Just not that cool.

The end result does not justify the original assertion as quality. Like going all in on 7-2 pre-flop. You might win, but that doesn't make it a good bet.

Either way...

Late arriving, but in defense of PSP, I would say that Leopold is not untouchable. I've noticed his game has tailed off somewhat defensively during the 2nd half of the season, which became more noticeable since his offensive numbers came down to earth a little.

He should definitely start, but I wouldn't have a big problem seeing him replaced by Gragnani if he's not contributing. Same situation with Butler or Sekera if they aren't playing well.

Alright fuck you guys.

I'm not discounting your opinion. I think the comparison is the obvious one, Leopold to Campbell and Grags to whomever you think he'll take a spot from. I don't see that being Leopold. I just don't see losing 13 goals from the blueline, even though his numbers have come down in the 2nd half and owning the worst +/- on the team.

Grags - Sure, as you said its a small sample, but there's a lot to be encouraged about with his play. If he can bring some of those stats up with him that he put up in Portland...we get even tougher to play against. They don't list the number of hits, but 53 PIM in 63 games...he must have hit a few people against the boards.

Leopold, Sekera, Grags, and Myers all can give you offense. If Grags can stay up with the Sabres, that's 4 defensemen who can give you offense. That's a match nightmare for teams. A mistake in the offensive end and with our transition game...that's got a decent chance of ending up in your own net.

It wasn't anything like going all in on a 7-2 pre-flop to me. Maybe to you, because you see Leopold's value to this team differently than I do.

I'll give you the fact that, statistically, he appears to be crucial. He logs a lot of ice time and he's contributed a good amount offensively.

But he's no cornerstone. He doesn't bring a physical presence in our own end. He doesn't play the body often. As such, his defensive responsibilities can be delegated to others without too much of a shakeup.

That's exactly why the Sabres haven't struggled without him in the lineup. On the contrary, they've maintained the same level; perhaps even surpassed it.

So is he a nice piece to have? Sure. Should his absence worry fans? No.
