I'm not really sure if this has been appreciated enough.

Thomas Vanek threw a hit at Brad May, injured himself, and yet he finished his shift and scored a goal for the Sabres.

If that doesn't exemplify toughness, then I don't know what does.

When you're playing a sport, and trying to achieve a short term goal, there is a certain amount of adrenaline that comes over you and keeps you from feeling the full amount of pain.

Glad to see Vanek finally felt part of this.
