What Skyline said, basically. Adding grit players that are more responsible has made the chance of mistakes few and far between.

Also allows the scorers to open up.

Can't wait untill Roy finds his game. Without him we'd have very few turnovers this season thus far.

 This team is amazing now that we have some gritty leaders, I'm glad we got them already.

And I love it.

4 man attack on offense. 2 men on the forecheck. Defensemen pinch on seemingly every play.

We've returned to run and gun, with a modern NHL twist.

Get ready for a fun season.

And it's about time.
Finally found a Dman that is capable of making it happen. If he is sent back, I am done.
Tyler Myers - 5gp 1g 3a +6 6sog. And this doesn't even reflect how many scoring opps. he has created due to his sound/smart play. He is making Butler look average and Tallinder very unnecessary.

Butler doesn't look average, him and Rivet are playing very well, the duo of Butler and Myers on the point during the PP is one that is very good. They basically keep the puck from ever leaving the zone.

Our Defense is clicking, reason why we have only allowed 8 goals in 5 games.

As I said in the GDT, the call on Rivet was horseshit. The Bruins player was holding onto Rivet's stick like it was the last fucking raft on the Titanic.

Ugh. Tallinder hasn't looked bad because his mistakes are being overshadowed. He's decent but not worth what he is being paid compared to the youth. Possibly he is providing mentoring worth, only the team knows that.

Double ugh. Butler is NOT average. It is just that Meyer's play is making it appear that way. This is a win/win for this team and its' D corp.

Sighing over the apparent intent to incite an argument.

I'm a huge Tallinder critic, but he hasn't played poorly yet this season. Using Myers as the reason is just twisting things to support your argument. Rivet has helped Butler out, doesn't mean Butler actually sucks. Tallinder is basically just staying back and playing the deep man while Myers uses his size and skills to make plays. It's been working fine and Myers has Tallinder beat in another category - embarrasing pylon effort that led to a goal. No big deal.

Myers and Butler are seeing pressure on the PP. It's a perfectly reasonable strategy to see how they handle it. So far the best they have done is dropping it down to the side wall, but they haven't been able to move the puck laterally with enough quickness to fire off open one-timers. They need and deserve some time at it, but so far that is one reason the PP has not put up numbers.
