It's just the usual MO from the NHL. Nobody finds out about exceptions to rules until after those exceptions become a reason in the future that a punishment shouldn't be applied.

It was a good hit. Questionable interference call. Wonder how many people who are here complaining about the hit also praised Cambell's hit on Umberger? From what people are saying about Torres' hit, Campbell should have been gone at least 10 games. I don't like to see guys get seriously hurt, but it isn't always the guy hitting at fault.

I can provide you 4 solid camera angles that show clear shoulder to shoulder contact between Campbell and Umberger. No direct head contact. Campbell's hit was perfectly clean and legal under any standard.

Torres on Seabrook was Torres' shoulder to Seabrook's head. Completely different scenario.

I'm so sick and tired of seeing this bullshit dredged up ever time.

i don't think campbell only hit the shoulder. i think the initial contact was at the chest/shoulder, though, and that's the important part.

but i still haven't seen where torres made first contact with seabrook's head. there have been no stills posted or anything. and the videos i've tried to capture it on don't show it because it happened too fast.

Just because Campbell's hit was a big hit doesn't mean head hits are the same thing. Campbell kept it clean, Umberger got hit shoulder to shoulder. People post this comparison all over, and quite frankly, it's false.

i'd appreciate it. i still don't think it was dirty, even if he does make initial contact with the head, because to me, it was not a headhunting play. but i would like to finally know if he did indeed make initial contact with the head.
