Too bad there aren't any stats for the 3 odd-man rushes Montador allowed in Game One alone.

Montador's been crap for last 3 + months. He had some good promise as a "shut down" guy but I've been proven wrong aboout that assumption already. Hopefully Darcy sees this and let's him walk come July 1st.

Such a bad game. All this excitement for a huge letdown. They shown no heart this game. They had maybe a good 5-6 alright chances but other than that the rest of those 30+ shots were from impossible angles. Not going to win games like that. They better come out firing on Wednesday or we're done

Butler and Montador can go find the nearest bridge and jump off. If Butler doesn't turn that puck over like a beer league defenseman, we're tied at 2.

He got schooled tonight, but I feel confident that he's going to compete hard and have a great rebound game for the Ssbres in Game 4. I have a lot more confidence in Butler than the so-called veteran leaders of that blue line.

Out shot, outhit, and out faceoffed the flyers including an 11-5 shot margin in the third. Doesn't scream poor effort. With a goaltender giving up rebounds like boucher was, I don't think there's much room to criticize shot selection. Gerbe scored on a rebound off of a "low quality" shot.

Philly is a good team that is going to make plays, score goals and neutralize our star players from time to time.

Mmmmeehhh maybe for about 5 or 6 weeks I think he's been shaky but all I'm really concerned about is beating the cryers, and he's been at his worst.

Montador has always had at least one moment a game where he looks like he just realized that he has feet. Sometimes it hurts us, sometimes it doesn't.

Yeah but if the Sabres correct their breakout and stop turning it over in the d-zone, the cryers can't catch the defense by surprise with quick counter attacks. You simply have got to get it out, they got about 80 goals from their top 2 lines EACH in the regular season and their THIRD line has been the best one for them in this series. So I mean, ice it, loft it, delay of game it, whatever just don't turn it over.

And the Sabres need to get their forecheck going too, it's been absent. I don't know what the attack zone time has been but I'm sure it favors the cryers.

Really disappointing effort for long stretches this game.

I don't see the urgency that this team had in game 1.

I've only read the first page, but I'm SHOCKED at the replies. I thought the Sabres played great and more importantly gave it EVERYTHING THEY HAD. Sure, they made some mistakes but I thought the effort was there, no question.

It's so wierd because sometimes I come here thinking the exact opposite but everyone on here thinks differently and it makes me feel better.

Refs suck, but it's nothing compared to last year. Idk, I though we played great.

Right but unfortunately the way you play the game doesn't mean much, it's all about the end result in the playoffs. And we have lost 2 in a row, and the next game is critical, all the pressure is on the Sabres now. And even if they win, they still have to win at least one more in Philly.

The effort was there. Scoring chances galore, but no finish. A couple of unlucky bounces early on. And, I hate to say it, but Miller has been outplayed by Boucher to this point. No way they can win if that happens.

Miller has looked bad but he hasn't been bad. Half of the goals scored on him, at least, have been odd deflections. I mean there's just really not much you can do about that.

I'm cool even if the Sabres don't win. My only want is a team that fights (heart) and they have been doing that consistently. They don't have the same talent as Philly. Whatever. It's going to be a great offseason and most liley a really good season next year.

That's how I see it anyways.

I'm becoming a constant complainer about Miller, which is odd because I actually like him. But I expected a lot more from him in the playoffs. Most goals weren't his fault but I expect him to make that incredible save other goalies can't make.
The goalie positon was the ONE postion I felt good about before the series but the last 2 games Boucher looked like the better goalie.

My expectations are probably too high but I think with Vezina-Miller we would have won 1 of the last 2.

Besides the shutout in game one, he's playing like an absolute average goalie. I guess we dont really have much to complain about, except that we've come to expect more from him.

The effort the past two games have been deja vu from last years playoffs against boston. We _KNOW_ the Sabres can play better, but the effort just plain sucks balls.

The Sabres need to play THEIR game, but unfortunately when every pass they make gets intercepted in the middle, they have to resort to playing scared and it shows. They need to learn that mistakes happen, don't ever play scared.

This is exactly what I was thinking last night.

Game one was the best game they played all series. I don't care what anyone says.

They cleaned up everything in their own zone. They took care of business defensively and helped Miller out. And they took advantage of the lone opportunity they needed.

I'll take that game over either of the last two any day.

lol...so, you'd take the one game we won, over the two we lost? Pretty radical statement there Adam! :)

Ugh........trying to muster up the strength to post after that shitty game last night. Pommers......wide right as usual. Stafford....good job. Butler....I want to fucking stab you. Myers......where are you?

I think if this doesn't show Darcy and the crew that we need to beef up our blue line then nothing will. I like what our offense is doing but fuck it's hard to go in and bang, get chances and play your ass off just to see the other team score because your defensive group is picked from the Special Olympic team. We had great pressure, were out shooting the hell out of them, gaining shit tons of momentum and confidence then the defense took all the air out of the sails by turning over the puck which lead to a goal two seconds later. If I was Miller/Vanek/Stafford I would be ripping the D's fucking collective ass up and down for that fucking loss.

You know what the worst part about last night was?

Watching Gaustad get outnumbered along the wall in the Flyers' zone with the goaltender pulled, and no one moved from the middle to go help him (I think Vanek and Gerbe were there.)

The puck was cleared and they scored in the empty net.

The power play battled so hard to keep the puck in the zone all game, and then when we pulled the goaltender it was like that battle was gone.

Another reason why Darcy should have persued a veteran defenseman at the trade deadline.

Montador is nothing but herrendous this playoff season. But knowing our past I'm sure Darcy will resign the guy for a good 2-3 years again... And we'll keep seeing this shit go down on a yearly basis.

On another note anyone think Perrson is any good?

I'm not familiar with rookie call ups and crap but are the Sabres aloude to call up Kassian? I know he's not playing in Portland but we did sign him to an entry level contract if I do remember correctly that is... We could sure use a mean mother fucker who can score on this team against a hard hitting Flyers team... Just a thought so don't jump all over me with your replies. Thanks!!
