Too bad there aren't any stats for the 3 odd-man rushes Montador allowed in Game One alone.
Montador's been crap for last 3 + months. He had some good promise as a "shut down" guy but I've been proven wrong aboout that assumption already. Hopefully Darcy sees this and let's him walk come July 1st.
Such a bad game. All this excitement for a huge letdown. They shown no heart this game. They had maybe a good 5-6 alright chances but other than that the rest of those 30+ shots were from impossible angles. Not going to win games like that. They better come out firing on Wednesday or we're done
Out shot, outhit, and out faceoffed the flyers including an 11-5 shot margin in the third. Doesn't scream poor effort. With a goaltender giving up rebounds like boucher was, I don't think there's much room to criticize shot selection. Gerbe scored on a rebound off of a "low quality" shot.
Philly is a good team that is going to make plays, score goals and neutralize our star players from time to time.
Yeah but if the Sabres correct their breakout and stop turning it over in the d-zone, the cryers can't catch the defense by surprise with quick counter attacks. You simply have got to get it out, they got about 80 goals from their top 2 lines EACH in the regular season and their THIRD line has been the best one for them in this series. So I mean, ice it, loft it, delay of game it, whatever just don't turn it over.
And the Sabres need to get their forecheck going too, it's been absent. I don't know what the attack zone time has been but I'm sure it favors the cryers.
