If they're gonna keep Manitoba, stay the Moose. If they're gonna use Winnipeg, go with the Jets. Just keep some continuity ya know.

im guessing its bullshit because i read they are going to keep the logos and jerseys the same. true north said they spent way too much money on branding the moose.

Shane Doan also said, last summer I believe, that he'll retire if the team doesn't stay in PHX.

he will stay with them, i think. he's a competitor and has a ton left in the tank. plus it'd be bitchin awesome for an original jet to play for the new jets...especially the franchise captain.

I need to find the link, but I distinctly remember him saying he will retire if the team moves. His children and wife only know Phoenix and he won't force them to uproot just for him to play a couple more seasons thousands of miles from home.

Now I really want to find this quote.

I wonder if that's just Bryz and Doan being political

I guess the players love the city more then the city loves the players?

Here's Bryzgalov...

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=363238

"You don't want to go to Winnipeg, right?" Bryzgalov told Sun Media on Wednesday. "Not many people live there, not many Russian people there. Plus it's cold. There's no excitement except the hockey.

No park, no entertaining for the families, for the kids. It's going to be tough life for your family."

Bryzgalov, who says he's only been to Winnipeg once or twice during his minor hockey days, figures that if he's going to play in a cold climate it might as well be closer to home, and he likely won't entertain a new contract offer from the club if it moves.

"Probably not," the 30-year-old Russian said. "I better go to somewhere in Russia, KHL, to be honest, because KHL is Russian people, its family, friends."

Bryzgalov, who wasn't on his game during the Coyotes' sweep at the hands of the Detroit Red Wings, wants the team to find a way to stay in Glendale.

"I hope team's going to stay," Bryzgalov told the Sun. "It's such a nice area and such nice place to play hockey."

Translation : I really don't care about the team or the franchise. I'm only in this for myself.

Even if the somehow end of staying, don't re-sign this guy.

A Russian player complaining about cold weather? Interesting

Not complaining about cold weather...complaining about cold weather happening somewhere that isn't Russia. Boiled down, he said if he's gonna play somewhere with shitty weather, he might as well do it in Russia where he can feel at home.
