No way Pommers plays in the rest of this series at least. Nasty cut.

Man, I still have the dumbest smile on my face from last night. I could have sworn we were fucked after letting them come back from 3-0. I'm worried that we'll let them take game 6, because we dont technically 'have' to win it, but they do. I'd like to avoid game 7 if we could.

Even when they gave up the lead, I felt like we were going to win the game. Maybe it was just a continuation of a hunch that I had from earlier in the day.

Something felt right about last night. That's all I know.

There are a lot of ligaments and crap all the way around your ankle. I'm sure he got a one if not a couple of them sliced pretty good.

My guess is weeks; not days.

Jesus....how can all the hockey talking heads be praising the Cryers and basically saying we're shit? They all say that they will come back just like they did last year against Boston and that we suck because our highest scorer is a rookie D man (Grags). I mean Bob Mckenzie all but got the balls in his mouth along with their cock in his pist write.

It's happened to other players before. There's a spot between the tongue and the ankle/calf support on the left and right sides that is left exposed. There's nothing there but hockey socks. And with how sharp profession players skates are, they slice right through that material.

National writers cater to the larger markets. This is not news. He's also hinging his entire argument based on two points:

1. The Flyers did it last year.
2. Pronger will come back for game 6.

Both of these arguments are shit.

1. This is a different Flyers team. They're missing one of their leading scorers. Just because it's happened once doesn't mean it's going to happen again.
2. Bob apparently has ignored the reports from the media in Philly that Pronger and Carter are done for the series.

Preaching to the choir man. Besides, I love it when we're the "under dog". We seem to play better. It will make our win that much sweeter when i get to listen to all these douche bags pull excuses for the Flyers loss out of their asses. Pronger this...and Carter that....bad bounces...reffing...blah blah blah.

Completely off topic, Tom, but I just noticed that your sig is sort of hypocritical now.

Just saying. ;)

You make an interesting observation. However, I will ignore it. :)

Yes Mike, they do make various socks with kevlar and other assorted cut preventative stuff in them. I have to assume that Pommers was wearing them, they're not that expensive.

XH Series™ ACHILLES™ cut-resistant Kevlar® socks. Like a regular skate sock with the added protection of 60% Kevlar® to help prevent skate cuts. With today's skates being more rigid, including the back tendon guard, the vulnerable Achilles tendon and surrounding area is left unprotected. ACHILLES™ skate socks are a new product for the hockey market and will help to protect the back of the leg as well as the front part of the foot from potential skate blade lacerations.

ACHILLES™ cut-resistant skate socks are made with Kevlar® for cut protection and they are blended with COOLMAX® XtraLife fabric to help keep the feet cool and dry, while the LYCRA® fiber provides a superior fit. COOLMAX® is the #1 moisture wicking fabric available today. Compression bands hold the socks in place and promote circulation, while a mesh zone on top of the foot gives added ventilation combined with a seamless toe for comfort. Sock color is white, black and yellow with our ACHILLES™ and Hogan Hockey™ logos, plus the size stitched into every sock for easy pairing when laundering. Sock sizing is based on shoe size. Click on chart for sizing (upper right).

Every player in the league should be wearing these. I also heard RBK is going to start making the hockey socks(over the shinpad) with kevlar weaved in.

Kevlar-interwoven skate socks and hockey socks should be mandatory. No contest.

I can get behind this for sure. But then again, I'm sure there are some guys out there who still pull the Bobby Orr and wear no socks with their skates, might be like trying to make shields mandatory for everyone.
