Grier packing it in?

Paul Hamilton said Grier was still in his jersey, and was crying...

I say for next year, Bring up Luke Adam the entire year for second line duty if we don't get a top tier center. So we'd have Roy, Adam, Goose, and Nieds as centers. I honestly would be fine with those centers going through.

luke adam is slower than molasses in a january buffalo snowstorm. i doubt he's ever going to be better than a third liner in his career.

I think he'll be fine. The year in the A has had to done wonders for the guy. You can work on your speed and he knows what he needs to be.

WGR. Sorry, no link on radio

Paul Hamilton's post game report will be in the audio vault later on, though. It's right near the beginning

sad. i like grier. he was a ted nolan type player and lindy's ruffs favorite kind until 2007.

i hope he is an assistant coach. we definitely need a new defensive coach. i like james patrick, but our defense is soft and weak, and has been during his tenure.

It's sad for Grier to end it like this.

Could have something to do with the fact that Grier only logged about 5 mins of icetime this game. Crappy way to go out.

It's things like this that are why I never question a team's heart.

Timmy out for 6 weeks

Yup.

Heard this too. Not calling blame on the bruises in this one, but man it doesn't help much when you've got some of your best guys on the sidelines.

Oh well.. brighter sights ahead gang...

I think we can all be objective now;

Briere, VanReimdyck, Richards, Carter, Leino, Hartnell, Giroux,

vs

Vanek, Stafford, Ennis, Boyes, Pominville, Connolly, Gerbe

They're just the better team offensively. They underachieved big time, too I think

and fyi, I don't give a fuck if I misspell any of the flyers' names :P

Fans don't appreciate how much luck plays a factor. The team that wins a championship is often the one that had the best luck with injuries.

As Legolas said, "For me, the grief is still too near."

But I will simply say thank you to all the Sabres players, coaches, owners (yeah even the fucktards that let Briere get away), trainers, equipment guys, and everybody else associated with enlightening my life with Sabres hockey. It's a tough yet classy city with a tough and (with the exception of Patty Mouth) classy hockey team.

I feel just awful for the players, especially Ryan Miller who really played amazing. I bow slightly forward with my hands pressed together, I am in awe of Ryan Miller's talents as a goalie. He has done nothing to tarnish his Vezina trophy, and in many ways he was even better this season. Thank you Ryan Miller.

I also want to give a special thank you too Tyler Myers. My next jersey will be #57 with a "C" on it. A few years premature perhaps, but you sir will be a part of the Sabre's first Stanley Cup celebration. And thank you for playing so awesome!

Pretty sad right now, and I finally feel the full sting of the Briere departure. It's like rubbing salt on the wound, and it hurts. :(

I got lots to say about NEXT season, but it's not wise to rant when you're sad and hell bent on numbing the pain with beer. :(
