to that end, why are we required to thank a team that played only seven games more than they had to play anyways?

no one thanks me for working the job i am on.

Well that's certainly being mature about it.

It was a great ladder half of the season. But the last 2 games? When it all mattered they didn't show up. Game 7 is supposed to be so tight yet Philly demolished us. Surprised we even got one goal let alone two.

But nothing we can do now but thank the players, coaches and owner for a a great season.
Hopefully Darcy can bring in a good #1 center for this team and a good hard hitting defensive defensman.

Even though the taste in my mouth is that of a big bag of monkey shit from last night, a few things to take from this series, this season and the looking forward...

- Although many likely figured we'd be crushed in this series, it wasn't a 4 game sweep.
- We got to see how the kids respond in big pressure games (Ennis, Gerbe & Co.)
- Jhonas Enroth showed Lindy that he doesn't have to burn out Miller 25-30 games straight.
- I truly believe we've seen the beast in Myers surface which only means good things are on the way.
- Vanek has stepped up as a leader and played likely some of the best, if not the best, 2 way hockey of his career.
- We were in the cellar back around Christmas and the team managed to dig themselves out of the hole they were in by believing in themselves and putting in the work.

And last but not least, we have ownership that actually cares for the fans and wants to do anything to win. Honestly, I can't wait to see the structure of this team next season.

I'd say that that deserves a big frickin, "Thank you" to me.

Thank you, Sabres!

So the players and coaching staff, who actually played the games, deserve no credit for winning the games to get them into the playoffs in the first place?

Man, you folks are hard to please.

True, if it wasn't for them actually playing then they wouldn't have made it to game 7. Right now I feeling like giving the thank you to where I believe it is deserved the most. I truly believe that if it wasn't for the sale then they would be sitting around Ottawa and the Islanders.

Trust me...if they lost last night by a point or even two but played their damn hearts out, then yeah I would be thanking them. I just can't put my mind around how horrible they looked last night. Their true colors showed last night. The team we watched last night was from November/December, not since January.

To each their own. If you want to thank them, then fine. If you don't, then fine too.

I just am not going to ignore the other 88 games they played this year because of how poorly number 89 went.

Not sure why he couldn't do that in this series. He struggled a lot defensively.

If it was just that one game but it wasn't. They played the same exact way for almost half the season. I don't feel sorry for not thanking them for that.

You know tom, your selective quoting and purposeful misunderstanding of what i'm saying is fucking obnoxious. No where in my post do I say what people are allowed and not allowed to do, that is clear as day, and if you actually think that's what i'm doing then quit whatever schooling you're engaged in, it's a waste of time.

Also, the fact that you think you have any right to come in here and tell ANYONE to 'tone it down' is hilarious and ridiculous. When YOU argue with someone on here, you tell them they are a fucking moron, and they should stick to their day job, I reacted to being snarked at, the end.

(I'm not trying to pick a fight here. It just seems like you'd rather focus on the negative and ignore the good things they did.)

So what's your point?

You made a comment complaining about his 'unsolicited opinion' of what you wrote. Does he have to get permission from you to respond in a way which you approve?

If you're unwilling to have someone respond to you in a way you dislike, the best option is not to post at all.

So SinDC wants to focus on one half of the season, and Squanto wants to focus on the other half of the season. What's so wrong about that?

There's a difference between telling someone that they don't have a good opinion and telling someone to fuck off.

Well, you're in your doctorate program, and I'm only working on my measly bachelors, so you're fine since you're never actually going to leave school. :p

Yes. I wasn't telling him to fuck off. I thought that was painfully obvious.
