Quick question does Ted Black oversee all the trades/drafts/free agent signings? Or is Darcy the only one with the final say on if it goes down or not?

I would think now I have no idea on this but I would think they have Darcy on a short leash but Thats just me hoping and speculating.

Darcy _WAS_ on a short leash, now he's "unchained". Ted Black oversees that the people coming to the arena get what they want out of the game. I don't think he'll do anything but offer quick facts on potential acquisitions as far as doing anything that Darcy does.

Yeah, well, he's very secure with his masculinity. He can have whatever favorite color he wants and still be THE MAN!

Connolly still stick handles himself into oblivion. Use that 4.5 mill for something useful.

Connolly is soft trash. Do Not Want. Not even for a serious pay cut. Don't want him infecting the rest of the team with his heartless solo play.

Connolly gave the puck away all night like it was his penis at the playboy mansion. And as you'd expect he got an STD, Sudden Turnover Disease.

Last night, I watched Connolly make two plays that made my want to go back in time and set his father up with someone else.

- Lazy puck retrieval on a power play that gave up a semi decent shorthanded chance.
- Left his man in front of the net to go for a skate. 4 seconds later the puck came across and would have been an easy backdoor tap in if it were not for a fortuitous deflection.

His PK play has been good, especially on 5 on 3s, but the remainder of his play has taken a serious nose dive since the regular season ended.

Buh-bye.

I had this faint hope that he was saving his best for the playoffs. I guess not. What's pissed me off the most was two chances the last two games he had with a good-great shooting opportunity. He made the lower percentage pass both times...

I still would like him back for 3rd center at 2.5 mil, but the odds of him taking a 2 mill pay cut and the odds of the team wanting him back are much against it I'm sure.

I wish I knew more about what his teammates thought about him.

A few months ago I started a thread about Timmy's demise. Although I don't apologize for the thread because he was playing like a disinterested heap of garbage up to that time, extending into last season, now also seems like a good time to recognize him for successfully reinventing himself. Gone, seemingly, in the past few months, are the free-wheeling days of mindless passes, horrendous giveaways, and lazy D, replaced by a focused approach, good shot selection, improved faceoffs, and above all, stellar penalty killing. He's been good in the playoffs so far, with great D, and some really nice chances offensively in game 2. He's probably the primary reason Philly is 0-3 with the 2-man advantage. Easily one of the top 3 or 4 players during the late stretch run.

I don't know if he's worth re-signing at his current salary, but IMO, he's more valuable than Boyes.

Boyes at center...yes. Boyes on the wing....no.

(FA), Roy, Gaustad, McCormick, and Hecht has another year at too much money. I just don't see a spot for Connolly next year.

Yeah, I'd love for them to use his 4.5 million on a shiny new player, or even to lock up a guy like Myers (whenever they legally can)

apparently, the sabres have some interest in connolly returning.

"Tim Connolly is the biggest UFA for the Sabres, while Drew Stafford is the marquee RFA.

"He has options," Regier said of Connolly. "There aren't many centers this year who are unrestricted. We certainly would consider bringing him back, but it always comes back to price and term."
