So my phone is rooted. Anyone else have a rooted Android device? I need advice on how to kill my bloatware. Is it as easy as going into a folder manager and manually deleting the .apk for each one?

Edit: Turned this into a general rooted Android thread

Try that.

That doesn't include a single iota of killing off my bloatware.

My friend rooted his Android phone, course it was sprint, but he is insanely smart when it comes to phones, well basically when he rooted it, his phone just started fucking up like crazy, wouldnt make calls and when he called his voice mail it would go to a verizon message said that Verizon couldnt find his phone... (Obviously cuz he was on a sprint phone) so yeah he basically ran his phone over with a 4 wheeler and got a new one.

Moral of the story, dont root your damn phone lol... but Ill see what he says, Ill probably see him tomorrow and send you a message about what he said.

Well I rooted mine, and I'm not insanely smart, but it took me three minutes and is behaving just fine.

Moral of the story is...he did something wrong.

So I'm about to use ROM Manager and Bootstrap to install today's leaked GB build.

Rooting is easy and safe, it's installing ROMs that gets tricky.

I used SuperOneClick to root my DX. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682
