Maybe ESPN is doing the right thing and waiting for all the facts, and the legal process, before coming to a snap judgement.

They probably got into an argument about the chick he's been messing around with at ESPN and he got pissed and broke shit, and some nosey neighbor heard and called the cops.

The whole situation makes me sad for their family and kids. They used to be members at the country club I worked at and they always seemed like such a nice family. Their kids were really well behaved and polite ('please' and 'thank you'). He was laid back and funny and she was a really nice lady (Once she ordered pasta with shrimp and scallops and I had forgotten that there were no scallops that night. Now, most member wives would have a shit fit about this, but she was all "As long as it tastes good, I'm cool with it!" )

It's too bad things like this happen.

He got into a ridiculous argument with his ex-wife's new boyfriend at her house and smashed some of her shit up too. That's what I was told.

I thought this excerpt from an article about the new ESPN book is pretty interesting:

Quote:
Make no mistake: In Bristol there are clear sides being taken by coworkers and management — Team Beadle and Team Andrews. In fact, Andrews supporters have quietly groused about Beadle's relationship with ESPN's NHL analyst Matthew Barnaby, implying that Beadle is treated differently and that Erin would never get away with something like that. The biggest slap in the face, to some Erin supporters, was that ESPN trotted out Beadle yesterday morning, along with Scott Van Pelt, for the network's up-fronts — this despite her relationship with Barnaby, who's now facing assault charges after an incident at the home of his soon-to-be-ex-wife Christine. But ESPN's upper management has chosen its new fair-haired girl, it seems. For now, it's Beadle.

Beadle also maintains that her relationship with Barnaby was done "by the book," in accordance with ESPN's corporate policy about disclosing interoffice romances. Rumors have surfaced, however, that the Barnaby-Beadle relationship started getting serious at a time when Barnaby was still married. Beadle denies those rumors and maintains there was nothing illicit about their relationship. Barnaby is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow. ESPN is still waiting for Barnaby's hearing before they make decisions on his immediate future with the company. "If they fire him or suspend him, I'd be pissed for a little while, sure, since I know how everything went down [with him]," she said. "But they [ESPN] have to do what they have to do and I'll get over it. That's just how I am."

That's why I like being single, because when I am in a fit of rage and I kick in doors and throw stuff around my house, I know that nobody is going to call the cops because everybody knows I'm too big of a loser to have a girlfriend in there with me.

Charges against former Sabres player Matthew Barnaby, stemming from a domestic incident with his estranged wife, will be dismissed in one year if he complies with a judge's conditions.

State Supreme Court Justice Deborah A. Haendiges this morning ordered Barnaby to perform 500 hours of community service and to continue anger management counseling.

Haendiges also issued court orders of protection barring him from "offensive" conduct against his estranged wife and directing him to stay away from her boyfriend.

Neither Barnaby nor his lawyers, Frank LoTempio III and Michael H. Kooshoian, made any comment as they walked past cameras and reporters outside the judge's downtown courtroom this morning.

500 is high, but that was probably done because they didn't want it to look like they were letting him skate.

Good point.

This comment made me chuckle pretty good though,
