This deal is done, Steven Brunt is never ever wrong. Plus all the denials makes me think they are moving for sure.

The TSN guys said it's not final yet, but probable. They also said if an ATL ownership group emerges anytime before the BOG meetings, the NHL might make them stay.

Anyway, if it does happen, guess which division Winnipeg would be playing in? The Southeast! It's too late to change all the scheduling, so they will "remain" in the SE for one year.

Yeah that's jacked up, but necessary. That realignment I listed would be for the 2012-2013 season. Maybe not if Phoenix gets moved and Quebec is in.

Here's a thought...with a team in Quebec that makes a NE division most likely...

Montreal
Quebec
Ottawa
Toronto
Boston/Buffalo

Does Boston get the boot to the Atlantic, or does Buffalo get sent somewhere?

Tough to say, but my guess is that the B's would be moved to the Atlantic. Makes sense to me at least. Would totally suck for the division rivals with Toronto/Mtl/Buf, but they also have an old rival with the Rags and of course one with the Flyers.

Nothing is more storied though, than the one between the Habs and B's. I think that one and the Hawks/Wings rivalry will stand the test of time.

Goodbye division championships if that were to be true.

Having the Wings in the Northeast can only be good for the Sabres in the long run. Forces them to be better.

Looks like it is unofficially, official.

Looks like the only thing that would make it more true right now would be if Dickie Dunn wrote it

my only beef with this is I can't take a hockey team with moose in its name seriously, if all goes as planned

Just read that the terms are finished and the WPG lawyers signed off on their end. All that remains is their ATL equivalents doing the same. According to Bob McKenzie and Nick Kypreos, if the ATL lawyers sign off today the announcement will be made tomorrow.

Tomorrow could be the day for Winnipeg and it looks like I will have a team to actually root for in the west.
