I can't bring myself to root for either of these teams.

But I think I dislike the Canucks slightly less.

In my perfect world, I wouldn't want either of these teams playing for the Cup.

But with all the hype about how the Canucks are Canada's team and how the media up here are cramming as much blue & green shit on their websites as possible (I'm looking at you, TSN), coupled with how much I absolutely hate Torres, I'm hoping the Bruins win it.

But only because I hate them less and they have the best marketing department in the league.

Edit: Interesting fact: Since the first Winter Classic was played in Buffalo, the following season featured at least one of the teams from the previous year’s outdoor game in the Stanley Cup Finals. I guess this means we can look forward to the Caps & Pens being one of the finalists next season. :?

It would be nice to see the Cup come back to its home country, but I despise the Canucks. On the other hand, I rather hate the Bruins too. I'm rooting for the puck.

Hate to get all hockey here, but I think it's a good match up. Bruins seem a little more defensive minded in the classical sense, but they've been getting a lot of scoring. I see goaltending as the most obvious swing-factor. Which one of these guys who've done so much in their careers but haven't touched the Cup will be best able to handle the pressure of the biggest games of their lives?

I like Vancouver in 6.

Another interesting stat is that this is the first year that a Winter Classic was played and neither of the teams that played in it made the final.

2008- Sabres vs. Penguis. Peguins made the Final and lost.
2009- Red Wings vs. Blackhawks. Red Wings made the Final and lost.
2010- Bruins vs. Flyers. Flyers made the Final and lost.
2011- Penguins vs. Caps. Neither team in the Finals.

I picked the Canucks to win...but I would hate to see our sister franchise win before us.
