They very well may expect him to challenge for a roster spot. As long as he goes back down to Edmonton before his 10 games, his first year doesn't got into effect yet.

i really haven't followed him at all, does he deserve his 10 game trial already? is there a chance he'd be ready out of rookie camp?

i thought this kid would be brought along slowly.... we shall see.

I don't think he really deserves that chance, I'm just throwing it out there that having his deal makes the 10 game tryout a possibility. My gut is 99.99999999999999999% set on him not getting the tryout.

Not that I'm an expert on the guy, but I did see him play one game live, and from that I'd say no, he doesn't deserve his 10 games.

He has exceeded what i was expecting from him but i'm going to third that notion that i doubt he gets to the 9 games in the NHL. a couple preseason games.

Definitely won't play the full 9 games. Probably wont even play one reg season game. Another year in junior will be great, pretty sure he'll make the world junior team too but maybe not.

I think Ownership and Management have change the way this team runs and Darcy could have waited a year and then signed him but they figure why not get him signed. We drafted him 1st round and now lets reward him by signing him. We were going to do it anyway down the road. This should turn players on to Buffalo watching this organization take care of their own players and bring about change in what other players think about Buffalo as an organization. I see this move as positive. I'm liking the Pegula era very much and see more things coming. God it's great to see this team having an owner that really cares about his players and wanting to win.

Does he get paid if he is sent to Junior by Buffalo?

Haven't seen any news on WGR or Buffalo News...Saw it on the Edmonton Journal, and even FoxSports has it.

No he won't get paid if he's not playing in Buffalo or for Portchester (I know he's not Portchester eligible yet, but he can play for them at the end of next season if the Oil Kings are eliminated).
