i know they said this is only to avoid offer sheets, but do you this this could back fire on them and give other teams a chance if they don't agree on the numbers that are presented?

I'm sure the Preds and Weber will come to an agreement. But I am curious to see what will happen with the Devils and Parise? A possible mid season trade for Parise if the Devils are having a bad year next year?
