You're still missing the point.

Any alcohol in your system impairs your reaction time and cognitive abilities. Even if he wasn't legally drunk, he had alcohol in his system. At the speeds he was traveling, he gave himself almost no chance to react to anything that might have happened.

i get you. i still believe that the reports of him driving drunk are wayyyy off, probably below the limit.

of course, i wasnt there, maybe he was shit faced from drinks bought for him, i dont know. im going by what ive heard, and probably what i want to believe.

I'm not saying he was drunk either. I'm saying that it's clear there was SOME alcohol in his system, and 'he didn't drink that much' is a cop out.

The body metabolizes alcohol at about .016 / hour. If he had 6 drinks of 4% alcohol content, his total BAC would have been around .1, depending on how much he weighed.

If he was driving 4 hours after starting to drink, his BAC would be at .036 . Not legally drunk, but still enough to impair driving slightly. Magnify that impairment with his speed...

TMZ said the police investigation shows the car was going 130mph. The car was disintegrated. At least they probably didn't suffer.

This really sucks. I just saw 3.5 on MTV this weekend for the first time, and couldn't wait to tell some guys I work with who are based in the UK. A truly awful example of good news / bad news.

My heart goes out to the family. That being said, hard to sob too much when the guy was shit faced at the wheel.

Don't really want to gloat about this, but I told ya so Mike.

Still sad that it happened. I hope someone learned from this and will think twice about getting behind the wheel.

Having been entirely sloshed (like most :P ), I will never ever understand how anyone could think it's safe to drive like that. I can barely make a sandwich for pete's sake.

you may have told me so, i was just going by reports. im not going to condemn and assume when everything else to that point suggested otherwise.

sorry, but that comment struck a nerve with me.

Right, as usual, you take the first couple reports and things you read, and run with them like they're gospel.

My initial involvement in the thread was simply to say hey, slow down, those reports might not be accurate. And by today's statements by the police, I was correct. The initial reports were completely inaccurate.

I'm not saying that you should have condemned or assumed anything. I'm saying it's usually a good idea to wait for reliable sources and facts.

One line of a report on TMZ 12 hours after an accident isn't usually full of facts.

I think regardless of his level of intoxication, it is still really sad that he died. 34 is a young age to go and I feel bad for his family, friends, and the friends and family of the passenger in his car. People are still grieving and it's sad that he is yet another statistic for drunk driving.

I could see this turning into a beatdown, especially if a bunch of fans of Ryan's go to his funeral.

Westboro church deserves a beatdown. For sure. A bunch of douches that don't deserve rights.

People on youtube actually record themselves prank calling the Westboro Church. Hilarious!

I cannot imagine if I was the parent of a fallen soldier and they had protested the funeral like they do.

They are just bad people.
