Would love to have him here. He has a solid season year in and year out. My kind of player.

Hopefully it's not at the cost of Adam though. Give em Boyes, Hecht or Connolly (rights?) and some picks.

I know you hate Gerbe like herpes, but getting rid of Gerbe will likely A) not be necessary and B) would make the Sabres weaker.

Yeah Gerbe's a hard worker. Keep him around.

Why get rid of Gerbe? I've loved Gerbe ever since he's came here.....maybe it's because I play just like him....nevermind, go on!

gerbes trade value will never be higher IMO. i dont see him as a long term answer for the sabres, so if you can get an asset while not losing a key player, id do that. thats me though.

Gerbe plays the way Stanley Cup winners play. You can't get rid of him right now, unless it brings in a proven scorer or top 2 center.

I'm hoping Boyes + Butler/Sekera for Regehr. Anything else is too much for a 31year old defenseman

I wouldn't get rid of Gerbe just yet. He plays hard and is getting better. Yes we know he's alittle on the small side but he's stirs some shit up at times with other players. I like Gerbe and would be pissed if we traded him for a 31 year old d-man when we can trade a guy like Boyes or a couple of d-prospects for Regehr. I don't mind Boyes at all but trading him to Calgary wouldn't be a bad thing at all.

Gragnani can fill in for Reggie, and Boyes is not irreplaceable.

I wouldn't mind that at all and to me it would be better if it was Butler and Boyes. From what Dreger was saying that Calgary can't afford to take on salary so I gues that takes Boyes out of the trade. I can see Butler/Sekera + pick or prospect going back to Calgary. We shall see. I just hope Darcy doesn't overpay. And please no Weber in this deal.

very true. i dont mind creating one void to fill another this early in the summer though. scoring is easy to acquire. that being said, it would be difficult to fill his work ethic.

"Can’t really say much," Regehr said Thursday afternoon. "Just looking at my options right now."

I don't think Scoring is easy to acquire. Their is so many teams that need top 6 players out there and your going to have to give up something good to acquire it. Look at the two moves Philly did today. Players and picks going back to Philly. Schenn was Los Angeles top prospect and Columbus giving up the 8th overall pick plus a 3rd rounder and a player for Carter. More of Columbus taking on Carter's Salary more than anything else. I'm just really shocked that Philly traded Richards. I knew Carter was going but didn't expect Richards.

Wow, I'm seeing a lot of comments that overpay for Regehr. I'm not against having him, he's a big, tough, stay-at-home guy that doesn't miss games. I'm just not sure that's what Buffalo needs the most. He's a better version of Montador (who is definetly not coming back), but he's not worth multiple players or Gerbe or Boyes. If we get Regehr, Calgary wants cap space so it will be something like Sekera/Butler/Weber (I hope not Weber), and a mid range pick or mid level prospect...certainly not McNabb or Foligno.

Regehr brings dependable experience (and a 4 mil cap hit for two years), but we also need a R-handed d-man that is good on the PP. I hope this wouldn't be the only move for the d-corps.

I hope they can pull a trade for him. The D is still not where it should be and I think Regehr would be an improvement. I agree with 1980's assessment of who should go in return.

Boyes will not be included in the deal as Cal is looking for cap space. We may be taking on some salary dump, which may change what pick we give. Adam + 3rd for Regher + Hagman/Moss?

Some stuff on Regehr...

Dreger - he won't decide tonight
Fan 960 Calgary - Luke Adam's name keeps popping up on the Sabres side, another CGY player may come to Buffalo
TBN - Regehr talking to former teammates and former Sabres about Buffalo
