I so so so hope Foligno isn't traded. Mike Foligno is my favorite former player and I am so excited for Marcus. I would be beyond pissed if Foligno gets traded before I even see him in a Sabres uniform.

I saw someone say something about us being good in the D corp situation but needing to improve up front. Though I think we could use a top center I wanted to point out that when it came to scoring we were 9th place in the league with 2.93 a game while we were 18th for goals against with 2.78. Our defense sucked last season and a simple numbers count of bodies doesn't mean we're okay. If we had a better D we would have done much better. Just saying.

It should probably be added that it felt like every other game we were blowing leads and losing. I know that's an exaggeration, but towards the end of the season I felt like that was the case when it was happening.

1. Do not let Gerbe go just yet. I really like the way he plays.. he isn't your average short guy.
2. If we get Regehr and he pairs with Myers.. That is a defensive pair that people look at and say "Oh fuck".
3. If Tyler gets meaner like how he was Tyler smash towards the end of the season and in the playoffs, we are going to be cringing at the brutality of these guys.

I'm conservatively excited about this.

A lot of Sabres fans are really underrating Regehr, he doesnt put up a lot of points but man can he play and like stated above, a pairing consisting of him and Myers will indeed have the opposition going "Oh fuck".

Regehr's been one of my favorite players in the league for years. Love his game.

Your beyond crazy if u think Gerbe will only be a 3rd liner the kids still developing and 2-3 years time he'll become one of the best on the Sabres if notthe league itself.

Fan 960 in Calgary says up to six teams now kicking the tires, complicating the process.

I know that family is the big deciding factor here. I have no problem with him taking forever. Possibly not deciding today does pretty much mean that the Sabres' first round pick isn't up for grabs in the deal.

while I agree I understand that this is a hard decison for him to make, and he deserves spme time to make it, it does potentially suck because now our hands are somewhat tied and whatever is involved on our end canbe used for other trades, im sure.

I would love to get Regehr but at what expense. It's not like the guy is in his 20's anymore. I just hope if we do acquire him we don't overpay for him. Get rid of Butler or Sekera and throw in a 3rd rounder for him and that's it. No Luke Adam or Nathan Gerbe and none of our previous first round picks. It would be nice if this deal can get done before we pick. The suspense is killing me to see what Calgary is getting for him.

The story up til now...

Sabres have exclusivity to talk to Regehr about waiving his NMC. CGY GM Feaster likes the Sabres offer and wants to make it happen.
No other teams have made a formal offer and are just kinda kicking the tires.
Regehr has decided that he'll waive to come to Buffalo but is being patient about his decision in case another deal comes along.

It seems like he's maybe looking to get the Flames the best compensation he can but if nothing else materializes, he'll waive to be a Sabre.

Here's my take on this situation if he doesn't come here then fine. I guess you don't want to be on a team with an owner that has more money than probably every owner in the league. I guess you don't see what Pegula is doing and you don't want to win the cup. The things Pegula and his family has done in less than one year is amazing and it's only going to get better. If you were a player why wouldn't you come to Buffalo.

Wow if thats the case he's waiting for another deal to come along so he can land somewhere better. I don't care for these No trade clause. It handcuffs teams. I just wish this shit would be done and over with before we pick. This team needs centers and can't afford to unload offensive prospects for an aging defenseman. I like Regehr alot but it all depends on what goes back the other way.

Our current D sucks....plain and simple. Like I said before, we're in 9th in scoring and 18th in goals against. We NEED a good D man like him. I agree that we need a center but if our defense didn't blow goats then maybe we wouldn't need so much scoring either.
