So I'm dying of anxiety over the talk of potential trades but it's all silent right now.

Yeah, at this point I'm not expecting anything significant for Buffalo. No 2nd rd pick, no big trades, Regehr is staying put for a few days at least, and no 3rd rd pick is worth staying up for. I'm packing it in.

Man, Phillips is still there.

Maybe we can grab him in the second?

Traded our second round pick away for Boyes. Unless you mean trading for someone else's second.

Darcy said on WGR he was trying to get into the 2nd round

Sorry, I should have added that...

Well wasn't the rumor that Calgary was sending their second our way? Maybe that trade will go through tomorrow.

Hey I can dream

I just hope I don't live to 2111, so I never have to see the number 11 on a Sabres jersey that doesn't say Perreault on the back again

I don't mind the idea of a boom or bust prospect, especially considering they must have gotten a good look at him in the WJs. Did they bring this kid in for their own combine?

When they took Pysyk, everyone complained about the "safe, conservative" pick. Now they're gambling, and it's more grumbling. You know who else the Sabres were high on that was a bit of a gamble? Tyler Myers.

I don't think picking a center because the NHL club is currently in need of centers is the way to go. I like the best player available approach. Trades can always be made to a team that is in need of the commodity you have.

I wouldn't mind seeing them stock the cupboards with centers in the later rounds a bit. I think Portchester is a bit thin at center as well. The later rounds are more of a crap shoot, so load up on numbers at the position you need to give yourself the best chance of getting someone worthwhile.

I'm with ya Ham. I said it in another thread the last time they liked a player it was Myers. i mean 35 straight NA picks and then they take a Finn. It takes a big belief to stray away from a plan that has worked well for him.

I came around to Pysyk, and I'm sure I'll come around to Armia, but I was really hoping for a center...

I would have preferred McNeil, but I can't complain because I know so little about this new kid. Hopefully he works out.

Sabres are trying to get a 2nd rounder. Kotalik could help a team hit the cap floor. Make it happen Darcy.
