so are we back to liking regehr?

the past 24 have already been a rollercoaster with him and he doesn't even have a jersey number yet. hot damn.

also, i'd almost be shocked if kotalik even showed up in buffalo. he would totally pull a niemi and refuse to report here.

I've seen the details as...

Regehr/Kotalik for Byron/Butler/2nd rd pick
Regehr/Kotalik/2nd rd pick for Byron/Butler

I also this this in an article on tsn.ca about the deal...

Regehr had originally held off on waiving his no-move clause to accept a trade to Buffalo but later changed his mind. Sabres owner Terry Pegula was reportedly very influential in Regehr's eventual decision.

Well played Mr. Pegula, well played.

Why? Did Kotalik like, not like it here or something?

I keep reading how Buffalo's offer was clearly the best for Calgary. It has to be for taking Kotalik off their hands. No other team would take 3 mil shit contract like that, but Pegula can afford to dump him in Rochester. No cap hit at all like if they bought him out, just let him play in Rochester, pay him the full salary without any cap hit. It's a 3 mil gift from Pegula to Calgary in order to get Regehr for a lesser player (hopefully Sekera, since Butler actually picked it up and played very well against Philly).

Eh, I'd rather they take Butler than Sekera. Sekera was coming into his own the 2nd half and I'd like to see if he can play with that potential for a whole year. Butler on the other hand spent a shit ton of time in the press box.

you really are a youngin, huh? you know how our media/us as fans like to put down connolly and even before him afinogenov? well al was the original disappearing sabre who took junk from everyone, he really has a lot of skill, but he doesn't use it. so i just cant see him wanting to come back to a market where he was so unwanted by fans and the sports media alike.

When, or if, deal is done, hearing Paul Byron, Chris Butler and 2nd is what BUF will send to CGY for Regher/Kotalik. Not yet official #tsn

Hhahaha, yeah, I'm a "youngin", I started watching hockey in the 05-06 season, and went to my first game, in 05-06. It was a playoff game, Game 6 Hurricanes@Sabres. :D and yeah, I remember how we always put him down, I just didn't know that he hated Buffalo because he was the one who took the shit from everyone. But, actually, I have a couple of friends who actually really liked Kotalik in 7th grade, and all of them were so pissed when he got traded to Edmonton or a 2nd pick.
