That's kind of a small subset of the American population.
I'll go ahead and call it statistically insignificant.

I'm not saying those people don't exist, because I know them too, but it's not a very good argument.
I also know people who have for the most part ruined their lives being hard core stoners.

Like anything, Marijuana is ok in moderation, and if abused, can be harmful to yourself and others.

Not everything can be so absolute. I went to the bar last night and had 5 beers and 2 shots, but we went for pizza afterwards and I felt as sober as a judge. I made about a 10 second decision that said if I was the least bit impaired, not through scientific statistics or a test of any sort, that I would not drive. (This was over a span of a long time)

Now what has been talked about in this thread is the level of impairment which affects you. As some have pointed out, 1 beer WILL affect the level of alcohol you have in your system...of course. But I could order a poppy seed bagel from Tim Horton's and become "impaired".

As for what Pat was talking about, on average, a joint is going to impair your moral decisions a little more than 1-2 beers, depending on your size. For me, it definitely would. Those hits may make me do strange things, but 1-2 beers is not going to make me jump out of a window.

That said, leave it up to the people using it. I am for the legalization of Marijuana and I believe it is less harmful to you than a lot of things that are sold at Mcdonalds.

And as others have mentioned, like anything, it can drive your life. But that's up to the person using it. I like to go out and drink as well, but i'm not going to waste my money on it if I have to pay for tuition bills or rent or anything of the sort.

Could go on all day with any substance. Pain pills such as Hydros or Oxy can be biologically addicting, but you still have a brain and a moral resistance to using them. Leave it up to the people.
