So much for a change of scenery...90 minutes down the road and in market where the media is even tougher on players even when they are playing decently.

It is a great day to be a Maple Leaf. The Maple Leafs are losers and they sign a loser. I wish the Maple Leafs and Connolly all the worst for sucking.

outside this past year, connolly was a guy who in a full season would get you 60-70 points a year. one down year points wise (42 points in 68 games, and is top 6 production).... and actually played well defensively.

connolly will certainly help them. they just overpaid for him.

if timmy stays healthy, i expect 55-65 points out of him. maybe more if he plays a boatload of time like he should on that team.

i always liked timmy. i wish him well. the guy took alot of heat, sometimes unfairly.

Yeah, if he ever thought he had it hard here. Just wait for Toronto. :)

Wow leaves Buffalo and gets a pay raise. Burke must have been desperate for a center because he isn't worth that much but then again either is Leino. I would have been okay with Leino getting 3 million a season anything more is overpriced.

Leino had 53 points, a +14, gritty forward. I think 4.5 million, with how people are paid in the NHL, is about right, maybe a BIT overpriced but nothing to squawk at.

I agree with you on Leino but I think we overpaid Ehrhoff. The guy played with the Sedin's. I hope he's not a bust.

ehrhoff is solid defensively, and hes excellent moving the puck. will he score 50 points? doubt it. 35 points and hes still a bargain.

Yeah. I don't know how many teams would be tripping over each other to offer-sheet any of our RFA's to crazy contracts.....

Well Grag's and Enroth look pretty darn good to me!

Grags and Enroth only have 30 NHL games played between them. I like them both very much, but I honestly don't see either of them getting offer-sheeted.

People honestly never look at how many games a player has played in then. None of our players will get an offer sheet just like last year.

Do you just like to make numbers up or something? He has ONE 60 point season. Ever.

its not for lack of talent. i said in a full season, he would get you that many points.

pts per game X 82 = projected number.

the only reason hes only gotten 1 60 point season is his lack of staying healthy.

hes not a 40 point talent. hes a 60+ point talent, outside this past year. and he was still a 50 point talent at that.

Yes, and this point cannot be overlooked or discounted.

You can't just say that a guy WOULD have done something and extrapolate his stats out like that. The fact is that he CANNOT stay healthy.

i never discounted it. i said in a full season, he can get you 60 to 70 points a year. thats how i look at it.

i dont see anything wrong with what i said.

Connolly has been an 'if he can only stay healthy' guy for 10 freaking years.

Assuming he is going to have this magical epiphany and stop getting hurt all the time is hilarious.

...i dont recall saying that, but ok.

i guess you and i have different ways to evaluate players. i evaluate them by what they were on pace for. thats my way. if you disagree with it, thats cool.

but dont say im making shit up without asking for an explanation first. i didnt care for that very much. and thats all im going to say about that.

i don't care if connolly was capable of one 60 point season. the numbers that really matter the most to me, are in the past 12 playoff games he played in he had 0 goals, and 3 assists. if you cant produce when it matters the most gtfo.

i would absolutely agree with that. thats one reason i like leino. he produces in the playoffs.

but as for the leafs.. they need to get there first.
some players stuggle in the post season.
