Nope. This is totally going to sound gay, but I'm not ready to get back on the horse yet, so to speak. The last months of the relationship really drained a lot out of me, and even the breakup and her moving out took a while, dragging it out even further.

I'm just content with relaxing and enjoying the summer right now. The lack of regular sex sucks, but I'd rather deal with that right now than get involved with anyone.

I hope crazy lady isn't working tonight. :? got piiiiiissssed at me last night for just doing my job... it was weird... I didn't bother defending myself to her, though. My reaction when people throw shade at me like that is to say nothing and just let them go on lol. It's what I learned to do as a child and typically makes them stop eventually, whereas offering up defences is typically a mistake. :?

The stuff we're using to strip floors in this particular building is so corrosive that it instantaneously dissolved the tread on my work boots.

In Pennsylvania for my cousin's wedding. It's definitely cooler here than NC right now.

when you leave, can you pleast take about 10+ degrees with you, so PA can go into the low 70s

Quit your whining about heat. 80 is not hot at all. That's comfortable.

allow me to give you some background....

we moved into a subdivision, actually 11 years ago today. its by the country club, and its a rather nice subdivision. its not like... exclusive, but upper middle class. anyways, last few years, as the housing market dropped, so has the type of people moving in here. anyways, someone actually rented a house by us. they were... a headache, the kids always dranked, smoked pot, were loud.. the parents did nothing. they got evicted about.. 2 months ago. and since then, a cat has been wandering the subdivision. sometimes, it actually looks in our windows. we suspect the family left it behind to fend for itself. every time i approach it, it runs away. tonight it ran, and it came back to me, let me pet it, and now it wont leave me alone. so now i ask, what should i do? im an animal lover, so if it was left there.. thats fucked up. i dunno.

I have two cats and two dogs. We had three cats and my favorite, the only male, got out and was run over. I hate when I see animals left behind and I leave a bowl of food in my garage for a cat just like the one you're talking about. My garage is my studio and it's a true man cave. By my couch I have a pet bed for it and even though it hasn't let me pet it, it hangs out with me while I draw or do homework. I keep the table lamp on my work bench on for it even.

Do you have other pets? Would it be possible to bring it inside?

Animals can sense something about the emotions of humans. I had that similar instance where a cat would always stop by and say hi, there's no collar, but it was always friendly and I didn't know if it belonged anywhere. It sensed that I loved animals and after a few times it eventually warmed up to me. Moving was a big bummer, because I almost started to adopt the poor thing.

Yup... animals seem to really love me lol. Abused ones that are typically afraid of everyone have come right up to me at first meeting and wanted attention from me (deceased friends of the family rehabilitated abused dogs while always owning at least three or four additional formerly abused dogs; i overheard them once discussing how the dogs trusted me but had never trusted anyone else but them). I think it's just because I love animals so much, and they can tell.

Not sure how I'm feeling at the moment...

Just received a message from one of the guys I play hockey with, informing me that a good friend passed away in hospital this morning. What is placing me on the fence with the emotional side of this is that for years he was a heavy drinker. I can recall years ago, it seemed like the whole neighborhood would show up at his place for holiday festivities and no matter what, you wouldn't have to worry about bringing any food, drink or gifts. Just show up and have a good time with everyone there and he flipped the bill for everything. More recent years when his drinking got out of hand, it kind of forced people away until only a handful would drop in to say hi. He was also my landlord for a few years and just so I wouldn't have to see him completely ripped at 12 noon every time I'd stop by to pay my rent, I'd just slide it in the mail drop at his house. His family tried to convince him to stop drinking, so did all of us (his friends) but he just kept going and going. Claiming that he would be fine and it was the rest of us who had the problem of not staying out of his business.

Back around February, he became really ill and was admitted to hospital. He had developed very bad leg and hip problems and began drinking in the upwards of a quart of rum and 2 cases of beer per day, sometimes more. Along with taking medications his doctor had prescribed to help cope with the pain. After they had informed him if he did not stop drinking he'd die, he went through a dry-out period and all of the nasty that comes with detoxifying from substance abuse was very much present but the damage had already been done. His liver was completely shot, his kidneys were failing as well and soon after (about a month or so ago) he was admitted back to hospital because he couldn't take care of himself anymore. Keep in mind; this is a man that was only in his mid 50's. This morning, his body just gave out on him and he passed away in his sleep.

I'm saddened in how his life came crashing down like this and no one knows why he turned to the drink as he did. After a while, I kind of distanced myself from him because I just didn't want to see the self-destruction that he was setting himself up for. After I moved out of my apartment, I almost never had any contact with him because all he did was drink and became a very dark individual.

I dunno...
