Samsung, Xoom, and the lot all offer different hdd space also. What you are paying for is screen size, and a name. $500 and up, you're going to get a top name brand and biggest screen options out there, and bigger Hdd space.

Phil, you do realize all tablets run about 500 bucks. The Acer is 450 the Asus is 400 and the rest run about 500 or up even the toshiba tablet starts at 500.

If you want a good tablet, expect to pay 500 or more on it.

There is no reason on earth to pay more than 500 for a tablet unless you want the biggest storage options, which is usually unnecessary given the use people put tablets through on a regular basis.

An 8 gb tablet is pointless. You can do the same thing on an touch for half the price with 8 gb.

To be comparative with other tablets look at the 16gb options from all the others. It's 479 and others start at 499.

Just got an HTC Evo 4g with Sprint after bailing from ATT. Sprint gave me a bunch of shit for switching and their plans tailor best to my phone usage. Plus Sprint is the only service of the big three that doesn't black out in my basement.

And I love the Evo.

I have had time to demo all of the major tablets now and I have to say i'm liking the Blackberry playbook, believe it or not. Despite being upset at blackberry over their lack of support and dumbfounded design team, i'm thinking it has a lot of potential.

The browser is pretty fast and clean.

What will bring it down, though, is it's lack of support for 3rd party applications and the fact RIM sucks lately at providing anything good for their products.

finally got android 2.3.3... OMG OMG OMG. it looks great and i love it so far. plus ive got that new phone buzz again.

That would be the casio commando. It looks cool, everything I have seen about it is good. The main problem is that the texting is a swipe type of texting, which apparently causes problems. The other problem is that the glass on the front is very thick, and so you have to press hard on the screen in order to get it to work properly.

I ditched Verizon for Sprint, and am now using an EVO 4G. It's running Cyanogenmod 7.0.3 with Tiamat 4.0.6 kernel and it's the bomb diggity. Launcher Pro Plus, Fancy Widgets, and the Faenza icon pack have me enjoying my favorite hardware/firmware/software combination yet.

There's an AOSP (Android Open-Source Project) ROM I'm going to try after the weekend that was built from the ground up to be used with its twin kernel for optimum usability.

Few days ago I left my shit blackberry in my pants and it went through the wash now it doesn't turn on. I am kind of glad it went through the water because it never worked properly since the second week I had it
