Since the movie just opened, this seems appropriate.

I thought it was good, not great, probably my third favorite of the movies behind HBP and OotP.

I cried during all the Snape scenes. I love Alan Rickman as Snape, I think he did the character justice.

I thought the Prince's Tale was wonderfully done, although I wish they would have shown more that's in the book, but it's to be expected that movies can't show every single detail that a book does. But when they showed Snape going into the Potter home and finding Lily omg I cried and then when Snape shows Dumbledore his Patronus. :( :( :(

I also cried during the Kings Cross scene, just because I was overwhelmed knowing that the movie was almost ending (and therefore the Harry Potter era).

I thought it was well done. Some things were obviously changed lol, but that is how it goes for every book to movie transition. Still good, I liked how they re-integrated the Chamber of Secrets, because if I recall in the book they dont tell Harry that is where they are going, but they showed it which I liked. (Chamber of Secrets is one of my favorite books) All in all it was good. Will definitely see it again soon.

The Snape's Memories scene was more well done than I ever expected it to be.

I wish some of the secondary characters had gotten more play.

snape's part was done well, the final battle sucked, they mentioned the deathly hallows like once, which is stupid.

harry didn't wear the cloak into the forest, so therefore he was never the master of death. they rushed too hard into the gringotts robbery and i think from there they rushed too fast into hogsmeade.

i dunno, 7a was way better and i am a little said the last door to my childhood was shut with this offering.

I agree with you Pat, some parts definitely seemed rushed.

I didn't like it really...that movie finally confirmed it for me that I'm just not into 3D. Some parts were cool, but mostly it was just a distraction. Although I did like the cute Harry Potter-shaped 3D glasses we got!

But I don't think I'll be seeing any more movies in 3D...okay, well maybe The Lion King when it's re-released, just so I can see it in theatres again.

See, I KNOW I'm gonna be crying, so I don't know how well that would work out wearing those glasses since I'll be wiping my eyes a lot.

I saw it in 3d on a regular screen. Was my first 3D movie, cool but unspectacular. I pretty much stopped noticing or caring about the 3d after the first 20 mins.

I'm sorry the series is over and i kind of wish they had split all the movies up to get deeper into the story lines. I did think that they messed up the make up at the end when they show the aged actors.

If i hadn't had a free ticket, thanx to the glitch that happened during the Transformers movie i would have likely seen it in 2D. It really did not make that much of a difference to me, besides having to deal with those 3d glasses over my normal glasses.

I saw it in 3D. It really didn't have to be, and my lenses got all smugged so it was more of a distraction than anything else.
Also, I've never seen any movies besides this and Chamber of Secrets, but I thought the Snape flashback scene thingy was good. That's all I got. :D

I saw it last night on IMAX (in 3D) and omggggg I cried soo hard.

I started getting a little weepy when Snape was dying but then I just lost it when I saw Fred Weasley dead. From there, I mostly cried until the end.

There was one part I was super excited for and was a bit let down after it happened. The part where Mrs. Weasley says to Bellatrix, "Not my daughter, you bitch!" I was really expecting her to SCREAM it! But she said it almost nonchalantly.

Snape's memories with Lily were so heartbreaking to actually see. I could really see why Snape couldn't help but loathe Harry because he was so like his father in many ways (he always called him arrogant), but at the same time he had Lily's eyes that he had known so well.

After Voldemort died, I got a little nauseous with the 3D effects they did. But I really enjoyed seeing the movie in 3D. Overall, I loved it. I can't wait to be able to watch all of them in a row once this one hits stores.

Almost everyone I've talked to were really disappointed with how Mrs. Weasly killed Bellatrix, I think we were expecting it to be a little more epic haha. When I saw it at the midnight premiere, everyone cheered when she died though.

And I saw it again last night...and cried again haha. When I saw it the first time, I cried when Snape died and during the Prince's Tale...this time I only cried when he discovered Lily and when he showed Dumbledore his Patronus. That scene is going to get me every time!

I thought Alan Rickman was the perfect Snape. I know Snape was supposed to be a lot younger in the books, but I really can't think of a better actor who could portray the character so well. I actually read an interview with JK Rowling, and Alan Rickman was the only person she revealed the ending to before the last book was released, so he would be able to better prepare for it.

Because he needed to know that Snape really was working for Dumbledore and that his purpose was to protect Harry. If you go back and watch the movies you can tell by his body language and how he delivers certain lines that he knew the truth behind Snape.

I don't know exactly at what point she told him, but in an interview she said that he knew very early on that Snape was in love with Lily and that he dedicated his life to protect Harry.

Alan Rickman is officially the shit. Snape was by far the most interesting and deepest character in the series, and his portrayal of Severus went beyond doing the character justice. Also, big props to Helena Bonham Carter for getting Emma Watson's mannerisms as Hermione down pat so well when it came time to film the Gringotts Bank infiltration scene.

I thought the movie was very well done overall. A few complaints:

The final battle was kind of anti-climactic. In the book, everyone is huddled around Harry and Voldemort, who are pacing in circles around one another. In the movie, Voldemort died and no one was around to see it. Then, right after the MOST DANGEROUS DARK WIZARD OF ALL-TIME had met his demise, everyone just calmly went about their business, making small talk with one another like they were discussing the weather. The final confrontation the way it was shown in the movies just didn't do the book justice.

Another thing that bugged me was Percy Freaking Weasley. He basically disowned his family for a few books to become a ministry loving wanker, then he just shows up on the scene after everything is all said and done, and the Weasleys seem to be entirely cool with this. Am I missing something here? This could have all been avoided if they had just shown Fred's death the way it was written in the book. It explained everything.

Also, why oh why did they have to cut Dumbledore's battle with Grindelwald? I was so looking forward to seeing a memory of that! I knew there was little chance of it actually being shown, because it was merely described as "being the greatest duel ever fought between wizards according to eyewitnesses", but I really would have loved to have seen what Dumbledore was capable of at the height of his powers.

My final comment is that Dame Maggie Smith/Mcgonagall is a total BAMF. That is all.
