Good luck to Patrick Lalime as a TV analyst and congratulations on a fine career ... a very classy individual.

Lalime retired w/ 200 wins (most b4 shootouts), an All-Star appearance and a legacy as a terrific teammate. Give him props for one day.

Nice career, Lalime! You were a decent back-up goalie with us.

Unless you speak French, you probably won't understand him.

RDS is already my primary source for hockey news

He'll only have an awesome retired life. The guy has a heart 3 sizes larger than anyone else. I can only wish him a great life, and that maybe one day he'll come back and coach as a part of the Sabres organization.

The guy was a good goalie and all around solid guy. But most nights he played in a Sabres uniform the team in front of him never showed up. Hope he does well over at RDS.

Thanks Patty!!!!

Not trying to be a dick but how was he decent with the sabres when he only won 9 times in almost 50 games in a sabres uniform?

He performed well in most games. Usually the team just wasn't with him.

I agree. Lalime is a nice guy but was a crappy backup.

For Lalime to have even gone .500, he would have had to put up stats better than every single one of Miller's seasons but one. I think that says more about the team than Patty Lala

I think it was a mix of both things. I think some days we didn't play well for patty but some days we over compensated and didn't show up on offense.

Either way he's a solid dude and had a good all around career.

I think that's fair.

Granted it's an estimation, but if I took Lalime's 38 starts and adjusted the opposing goals in random games to make him 19-19-0, he would have had to have posted around a .920 sv % and 2.38 GAA in order to just hit .500 with the goal support he received. There were maybe one or two games I wanted his head, but mostly I wanted the teams' heads when he played.
