Just curious as to what everyone is expecting from the team this year. The team certainly does not look stellar in comparison to Eastern elites. But we have, from top to bottom, lines that are capable of scoring and are not liabilities when on the ice. We not only have skill on the blue line but incredible depth to go along with it. I have a feeling people will be somewhat confused when they see Buffalo hanging around in the top 3. I am also looking forward to what Miller can with a solidified blueline. I do not want to seem over optimistic but I think Miller will make another run at a Vezina this year.

I just want this season to start. Like right meow.

We have one of the best D in the league on paper now, a top 3 goaltender, and 5 forwards that can score over 20 goals (maybe Gerbe can this year but I didn't include him). Our team is going to be one of the best in the conference, maybe top 10 in the league, hopefully.

I'm thinking 2nd in the division. 4th or 5th over all in the Conference. Really all depends on how Miller plays. If we get the Miller from two years ago, then I'd say 1st in the Division and 2nd or 3rd in the conference.

So we shall see. Regardless, it will be a good season.

2nd in the division.

Fourth in the conference. Top seeded non division winning team.

Feeling pretty good about that.

6th-8th place hockey for a month or two while the team finds its feet and the new players work to fit in. 1st-4th place hockey for the rest of the year. Overall finish: 3rd-5th.

I think Miller will face more shots this year, but those shots will not be high quality chances. Not sure what pairing I see shaking down for the first and second lines. I like a Pommers, Leino, and Vanek line a lot. You have the skilled center who can dish and make some moves. You also have the winger who can sit in front and deflect shots better than anyone in the NHL, IMHO. Then comes Pommers. Pominville will have a stellar year coming up if paired with the bunch. Ennis, Roy, and Stafford for the second. Having Roy playing the second center will create very favorable matchups. Only problem I see with this line is a potential sophmore slump in Tyler (P)ennis if Roy stays with his hold onto it and try to make something happen mentality. With Roy on the second line I dont think he will feel as much pressure into needing to make things happen. I am hoping on that last part.

Ya hopefully Roy can play a good "TEAM" roll rather than just him trying to do it all by himself. But all in all there will be good times and bad times this season but pretty optimistic the good will out weigh the bad by a lot. I think we will get 1st in our division and 3rd n the East.

Totally agree with you. I really think Roy can shine in the 2 slot. Kind of like Vaneks off year after the new contract, I think the pressure of him feeling as though he needs to be a #1 center makes him try to hard. And we have all seen how Vanek can lead and put up some serious points without Roy. Best possible thing would be to let Vanek be the undisputed leader of the first line. Throw the "C" on him and see if he takes his leadership tothe next level. Roy's playing style does not seem to suit Vanek at all. I can see Vanek chipping and deflecting in around 35 goals this year, without Roy.

First in the division. Top 3 conference.

This team's going on a tear.

Last year i hyped the team so much in my head. Even though that offseason doesnt even come close to comparing to this one, im still with the cautiously optimistic crowd.

We're going nowhere fast, so 15th in the East and 30th in the League, then next year we will be number 1 in the East and Number 1 in the League and the winners of the Stanley cup.

I'd say we will compete for first in our division all year and barely winning it, and we will compete for first in the East all year too, but fall to 2nd, or 4th if we don't win our division.

It's going to be more of a boring year with great defensive play and excellent goaltending. Hoping for the Breakout year for Ennis.

Ahh It'll be an EXCITING year. We did add more than just Regher ya know? Eherhoff can do both sides of the puck as can Leino but all in all they will have to be "key" contributators to the Sabres offensive numbers.

I'm hoping breakthrough seasons by Gerbe, Ennis and less than likely Gragnani... Grags is wicked awesome I hope he re-ups again next season. His day is coming soon. Ennis was up and down a lot last season but Gerbe showed me something when we needed someone to step he did in the latter half of the season. I'm expecting big things from these kids and hope they deliver if not hey we still got Morrison and Kotalik right?

I know we added more than just Regher, I do follow the team.

I just think with how our defense is, and since we still have Ruff, he'll love to make it more defensive as we'll have better options in front of Miller on the backend.
