the best FX show is the league, followed closely by sunny and archer.

lol - I agree. I expected to see "LOST" at the end, not "WILFRED"...

Then again, the guy IS talking to a dog...

Damn, I started watching it and loved the show. I think they have the episodes I missed on demand. I'll have to catch up on them.

I rather like the show. I like the fact that I actually have to follow it. Probably one of the better programs on television right now. I missed the last 2 episodes due to moving into a new house and not having directv come out to install yet. DAMN THEM. But I do get NFL network and Center Ice for an early birthday and/or Christmas present. Directv is coming out the 12th. One day after the Ravens, Steelers game. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH

The finale is on my DVR but I haven't watched it yet. I've become a fan of the show.

wilfred isnt as funny as i first thought, though it is dark. but the twists and turns through the last few episodes, and then the finale... MIND BLOWN. its just a really good show. the finale.. i cant wait till next season. like literally, im all.. WTF HAPPENS?!

and pat, i disagree. the league is good, but i feel that show has already lost its touch. the best show on FX is justified, followed by archer and wilfred. its always sunny jumped the shark a few seasons ago, sadly.

OH FUCK YEAH! louie is outstanding! last nights finale was so sad.

SPOILER ALERT! louis, as big as a dick he can be and how unhappy he is, genuinely really really liked that girl. it was so sad to see her leave and he just stands there sad, watching her go.

and the one where he went to the middle east with the duckling. so awesome. great show.

I like Wilfred, too, but I've got a lot of catching up to do.

This show is actually a remake of an Australian show by the same name. I remember seeing it a few times and liking it, but I think I like this US version better. Interesting that Wilfred has an Aussie accent, though.

i just watched the episode where ryans sister kills ryans beloved childhood dog, but lets ryan carry the guilt for 20 years. the other dog, sneakers, sometimes possesses wilfred, and the end pretty much made me dab my eyes. wilfred gets possessed by sneakers one last time, asks ryan for hug, and when ryan opens his eyes, hes holding sneakers one last time. the shot then pans out to show ryan just dreaming, with a very satisfied smile on his face.

it wasnt jarassic bark, but it was really sad.

OK, finally watched the finale. To me, the only real question is whether or not Ryan is just imagining the whole thing. Is it all just a way to project his "animal instincts" onto someone else to deny his own thoughts? Is Wilfred like Brad Pitt in Fight Club, a figment of the protagonist's imagination or another part of his personality?

BTW, I disagree that the show is not funny. Yes, it's dark, but there's lots of humor, both dark humor and otherwise. I love the way Wilfred always does stuff a dog would actually do, like when he's drinking out of the toilet, except with a glass.

Well, they sort of rule that out. Both in the fact that wilfred the dog does in fact exist, as verified by people around him...and the fact that there is another person out there who sees wilfred for 'what he is', and talks/interacts with him like a human. So either Ryans delusion also extends to this other guy, or there is something more complicated going on.

1000% agree, this is some funny stuff, wilfred is funny as hell and ryan acts as a pretty good straightman. Winning combo, I cant wait for next year.

Or Ryan also imagined the other guy, Keith. Keith didn't interact with any of the characters except Ryan and Wilfred, and Ryan's sister didn't see Keith when Ryan asked. That was a great episode.

there is more to it. for one, we learn ryan used to be a cut throat lawyer. absolutely cut throat. we also learn ryans mom talks to a cat, like ryan does to wilfred. and the basement doesnt exist. (remember episode 8? ryan: i couldnt find what you were looking for. i looked all over the basement!--- kristen: you have a basement?)

wilfred is obviously something ryan sees to pull him back from becoming the ruthless lawyer he once was. to be a good human being. the question that now exists is to what degree is wilfred real, and what is ryans imagination.

the other question is how ryan can manuever out of this situation hes put himself into. i think whats great is the first few episodes were all individual stories, however, as the season went on, they left hints that finally tied together. im imagining wilfred season 2 will be one long story line. like justified was.

wilfreds dog moments are hysterical. one of my fav moments is the one where ryan follows wilfred secretly. and while ryan is watching wilfred in his house, wilfred takes a cake and drop kicks it. for no reason. i laughed so hard at that.

And may I say, props to Elijah Wood for choosing to do something so cool when he could probably just cash in on his LOTR fame and do lame action flicks or romantic comedies or something. You might say that doing a TV show is selling out a bit, but I think he chose a project with artistic merit and I applaud him.
