well, i would assume the AHL players with two way contracts would be called up first. and purchase the AHL contracts as well. then i would assume a "draft" and as usual, then i would assume any remaining free agents (there are always decent free agents available)

i would love to see an NHL team just start over. but not at the cost of human life like we saw in russia.

At least a year. They're not rebuilding this season, and have begun a rebuilding phase in a lower league.

So sad that the lone survivor has succumbed to his injuries. I think the team can use a year off to rebuild, organization-wise and emotion-wise. I wish them all the luck in the world in moving forward and honoring the spirit of the lives lost.

Oh wow...I had no idea that Galimov "walked away" from the accident on his own accord was even able to speak, I had assumed that his condition was so grave that he wasn't able to walk or talk after the crash. This makes his death even more tragic to me.

It's good to read that the crew member is in stable condition though, looks like he will pull through.
