You think $4 million per for what Ehrhoff will bring production-wise is a bit much?

Remember, regardless of what they pay him in each separate year, the average cap hit is all that matters because that constitutes how much room we have.[/quote]

Exactly Eherhoff should be considered a steal at this point. And Pegula should and I'm sure will (From what Squanto said earlier in this thread) pay out of the ass to keep a defensemen. The guys future Norris Trophy winner, future Gold Medalist and hopefully a future Conn Smythe trophy winner. You don't pass on talent like that.

Sweet.

We just need to lock-up Ennis next year, and we're set for the next 5 years...

This is awesome. People worried about the cap for the future need to realize that we have A LOT of fat being trimmed off next year. Gaustad, Hecht, Kotalik, Boyes and Morrisonn come off our books for a total of $14,900,000 in cap space.

TSN is reporting 7-years, $38.5 million. That's $5.5 million per year.

Bob McKenzie of TSN has reported that the deal is 7 years, $38.5M. His salaries for each season are $2M, $6M, $5M, $5M , $4M, $3.5M and $3M. Also includes a $10m signing bonus.

Great deal for the Sabres.

We still need to re-sign or replace those players...

Pominville's one of our best two way players. I think we should at least re-sign Guastad and than see how Boyes does.

True, but none of them are going to get nearly as much as they are currently making.

Morrisonn and Kotalik, or 5 mil worth, has to come off this season anyway. So it's really on 9.8 mil of relief next season, and Gaustad should be re-signed, so really only about 7 mil of relief.

Myers deal won't be a deciding factor in that issue (as reported it's a good deal), but there will be some cap problems to deal with.

12 mi, 6, 5, 5, 4, 3.5, 3 mil...5.5 mil cap hit.

I'm glad TM is a Sabre for the foreseeable future. Can't see why everyone is so high on keeping Gaustad though. He'd need to take a serious pay cut for me to want him back so much.

Myers will make $12 million in the first year of his contract, almost a third of his contract's value.
