The undefeated Buffalo Sabres (2-0) head up the QEW tonight for the first game of a home-and-home series with the Toronto Maple Leafs (2-1) at the Air Canada Centre. Game time is 7:30 p.m. (MSG, WGR 550). These same two teams will face-off again Saturday at the First Niagara Center (7 p.m.). Tonight’s game is also the first of three straight for the Sabres, who will finish up with the weekend with a Sunday afternoon game in Columbus at 5 p.m.

Ryan Miller will start in goal for Buffalo and is expected to play the entire game. In his only other preseason action, Miller stopped all 11 shots he faced in 33 minutes of action on Tuesday in Montreal. Jhonas Enroth is scheduled to get the start on Saturday at home.

Nathan Gerbe (1+2) and Patrick Kaleta (1+2) come into tonight’s game among the league’s preseason scoring leaders with three points each. Newcomer Christian Ehrhoff picked up two points, including the game-winning goal, in Tuesday’s 3-1 win over Montreal. Jason Pominville played his first game of the preseason on Tuesday, and leads Buffalo with five shots on goal.

Head coach Lindy Ruff said on Thursday that Jochen Hecht is injured and will not play in any of Buffalo’s three weekend games. Ruff said Hecht’s injury was the result of a collision with teammate Shaone Morrisonn that took place during Sunday’s second day of on-ice practice sessions.

Buffalo and Toronto have played 63 pre-season games all-time… The Sabres are 30-27-6 in preseason contests against the Maple Leafs… The Sabres are 12-9-4 at home; 13-18-2 in Toronto… Five of the 63 preseason games between the Sabres and Maple Leafs have been played at neutral site venues, with the Sabres winning all five.

These two teams have met in the preseason at least once every season since their first meeting in 1974, when the Maple Leafs beat the Sabres 5-4 in Buffalo… The first of six regular season meetings between the Sabres and Maple Leafs will take place Fri., Dec. 16 in Buffalo.

The Sabres are 136-146-48 all-time in the preseason… Buffalo is 23-10-2 in preseason action since the start of the 2005-06 season after starting off 2-0-0 this season with 3-1 wins against Carolina and Montreal.

Should be able to find a video feed for us suckers not in the 716 area code later in the day.

Word out of Toronto is they're basically playing their entire starting line-up tonight.
This includes their new top line of Lupul-Connolly-Kessel.

Getting the W would be sweet.

It's a phrase that basically means, if you wanna see the Sabres at the top, turn the rankings.

Nice.

Don't know if there's a threat of a sell out in Anaheim. Apparently, the Canucks have sold out every game since 2002, which I didn't realize. I even signed up as a Canuck insider so I could get the access to tickets before the general public. I'm psyched that I got them.

I DON'T CARE ABOUT HOW WELL GRABOVSKI'S LINE IS DOING. TORONTO SUCKS AND CAN'T BEAT OUR HALF ROSTER.
