ha...I just heard when a B's fan IM'd me
Code:
 Daniel Paille ?
What about him?
we just got him
woah...I see that now

He says the B's are doing some cap / roster shuffling too, but he seemed ok with this trade.

danny paille just never grew into his shoes. it was a necessary move. he was a second liner with third line talent and results. it was time for a move. he could become a 20-25 goal scorer in the right environment, but he is the odd man out in buffalo.

No but we have Jochen Hecht and Adam Mair still here. Solid players

Uhh...Paille was put on the 2nd line LW at the start of last season. I was shocked, but Ruff actually thought/hoped that Paille could be a 2nd line LW. That lasted all of about 4-8 games, because he promptly went on the side of a milk carton for the rest of the season. This preseason was more of the same. We can only guess what his problem is, but I never saw anything special out of him after the first few games last season.

Maybe 2007-08 made him think he was special enough to not work harder, but that's a pure guess.

Also...I doubt anybody is looking to trade for Hecht (money) or Mair (since his contract is over next summer), so it's not about wanting Paille more than those players. It's about getting something for a player that is not working out, while there is plenty of depth.

Anyone who thinks this is not a good trade is just not thinking, anyone who is stupid enough to give up possibly 2 picks for Paille is not a good GM.

I'm telling you right now he will thrive with a good coach. He will be on the 2nd or 3rd line there. He is going to score 15-20 goals in Boston he did that here when given the chance to play.

I highly highly doubt it.

So you are saying Paille "solid" player? Ha if he was such a solid player he would not have been beat out by Hecht and an injured Mair.

in case you havnt been watching, and judging by your comment you havnt been, hecht is having a pretty good season. not point wise, but in his play, hes playing well. mair has always been what he is. a 4th line grinding type player. so, yeah, again, this is a fine move.

Jochen Hecht has a very pricey contract and Ruff loves him. Ruff just loves Mair. I have no idea why he turns it over in his own end and does nothing to help his team.

Paille is a better version of Jochen Hecht. He is also cheaper and younger than Hecht. He is more responsible in his own end as well.

Hecht at the price he is he is not that great but he is better than he was last year and Mair is the fighter of this team. Paille just was not good enough and I'd be surprised if he actually stick with Boston, as soon as Milian Lucic is back he will be back to the press box watching instead of playing.

No not really they have two roster spots to fill with Lucic out they just made a trade before this one.
