i didnt mind Rivet as captain.. just hated his steep decline in play.
I think it will either be pommers or vanek.

I disagree with Mike often, but this is totally correct.

I've never given two shits who a fan THINKS should be captain. I trust the players who are there in the room, or the coach who made the choice.

I only played with one bad captain, and that was because the coach picked his kid to wear the C. At the end of the day that didn't even matter because we knew who the leaders were.

I'm bitching about the team voting Rivet as captain, because as a team, they decided that the best guy to lead a bunch of players who had already been here for a little while was the guy that had just come in unhappy from a trade.

Yeah, I get that he was fine after a while, I just hated the idea.

You guys act like a team can't be wrong. Sure, there's so many of them, that maybe it's unlikely, but as a team, they could have been wrong.

Hell, for all we know, there was a whole voting process in which Rivet only won by one vote.

Who cares if he won by one vote or it was unanimous? The team voted. The team chose. As it should be.

Yeah, I see where you guys are coming from. Honestly, I do. I just wasn't a fan of the Rivet captaincy, and yes, I did think it was a disaster. Sorry.

Actually Rivet won the voting for the captaincy via the electoral college, but lost the popular vote.

For the record, I was a major supporter of Rivet being the leader of this team and going back on last season, I think it showed what kind of a leader he was. At least in the public eye in how he carried himself when he was keeping the boys company up in press row. He handled that way better than most that would have been put in his position. Also, I had 3 of his jerseys so of course I was going to support the guy ;)

Also for the record, this picture always gets a chuckle out of me..
